This amazing 1966 442 is a multiple award winning show car equipped with the Track Pac option. It has been treated to a comprehensive frame of restoration and the work has been performed to an extremely high-level from front to back. It has its original drivetrain with the factory L 69 Tri Carb set up, Muncie 4-speed transmission with its factory Hurst shifter. The Track PAC option consists of the correct air cleaner intake system, factory stamped # 86, and the trunk mounted battery set up with the cold air intake scoops mounted in the front bumper.
The original engine was completely rebuilt to factory W 30 specifications with new pistons, rings, bearings, W30 camshaft Valve Springs and lifters, new oil pump, water pump, fuel pump and OE style plug wires with correct lettering. The Muncie four-speed transmission was completely rebuilt, and a new clutch assembly was installed. The rear Posi track differential was completely rebuilt utilizing the factory correct 3:90 gear ratio. The car has a factory style exhaust system with the correct chambered tailpipes.
This car is completely solid metal and the panels are very straight with excellent gaps. The car was painted in high-quality Glasurit acrylic urethane single stage paint for the perfect factory appearance and it shows extremely well.
It sits on a set of Reproduction Hurst Wheels with Diamond back Classic redline radial tires.
All aspects of this car have been addressed during its restoration and it is in absolutely top condition. The car has had very low miles driven since its restoration work was completed. This 442 was judged at the last Oldsmobile national show and it scored a 991 out of 1000 with eight points deducted for the Hurst Wheels not being original to the car. The judges revised their ruling and returned the points for the Hurst Wheels and the Car scored 999 out of 1000 points.
Since 2020 the car has been at numerous shows where it usually receives a first place award when judged and recently it won Best Oldsmobile at the 2026 Good Guys car show in Scottsdale Arizona. This car is outstanding in all aspects a true highly desirable collectible.
