I am selling my 1967 Ford Mustang. I have owned it since 2005, and it has been stored in my garage since that time. The odometer reads 16,954 miles.
I have owned this car for years, and my goal was to update this 1967 Mustang Coup with up-to-date modern-day technology (a resto mod). With 8-cylinder EFI engine, an electronically controlled transmission with overdrive, rack and pinion steering, etc...
But Plans have changed…
Now this 1967 Ford Mustang Coup is for sale, it is that near perfect car you have wanted to restore but haven’t found that car yet, so here it is!
The interior is in very good condition. I was told by the previous owner that it is original. The interior headliner light lenes need to be replaced. Also, there are 2 small issues in the headliner, it appears the fabric separated. I used fabric adhesive to repair it. There is a photo with to these 2 spots circled.
There is no engine (that is why the car sets with the front end higher than the rear in the photos, because there is no engine -no weight,) Also no bell housing for the transmission. The car is a rolling chassis with working brakes.
This was an original 6-cylinder car. I started the conversion to be an 8-cyl, by removing the smaller differential for a 6 cyl car to a larger 8-inch differential for an 8 cyl car.
I also removed the 9 inches brake backing plates and drums. Then converted to 10 inch backing plates and drums. It has new front drums and resurfaced rear drums. All new wheel cylinders, springs. retainers, Brake pads, brakes hoses, some new brake lines, new emergency cables and, a new master cylinder.
It is solid car, with no surprises under the paint (it is the original paint) no body filler. You can see in the photos, I used a Fender Splendor FS688 Paint Meter gauge that reads in mills (thousandths of an inch) to show the thickness of the paint. (4-8 mills will indicate original paint) all the photos are in the range for original thickness paint.
The body is not perfect, but it is solid, there are some scratches, dings and small dents. There is some rust on the driver’s side floorboard and some other imperfections on the undercarriage. There are some paint bubbles on the left rear lower quarter panel and some surface rust on the trunk lid. (these issues were present when I bought the car - refer to photos)
The 1967 Ford Mustang, the exterior paint code V corresponds to Burnt Amber Poly (also commonly referenced as Burnt Umber or Bronze).
The rims are genuine 17-inch OEM alloy wheel rims designed for 2010–2014 Ford Mustang models. The part number AR33-1007-BB. The Tires came with the rims; they hold air but should NOT be used to drive on. (low tread and belts showing).
I had to install 1 inch wheel spacers so I could mount the rims on the front hub/ drums.
The 8-inch rear end tag WCZ - F1 3 00 7BB 931, is a common Mustang tag, identifies it as a 67-70 Mustang and 67-68 Cougar 8" rear end with 3.00 ratio.
The car has a new gas tank. Also, there is a new chrome 4-lug wrench, that is color coded for the lug nuts, Wheel Lock Key and Locking Lug Nuts. There is no spare tire or jack.
