Sunnyside Chevrolet of Elyria, Ohio in conjunction with Greg's
Sports, Classic, & Muscle is proud to offer for sale this beautiful
1964 Chevrolet Impala SS Convertible!
A 1964 Impala Convertible starts out as a fairly rare car- add in a
real Factory SS package, as identified in the vin, with a V8 engine
and you have one unique car. Now let's throw in that this
particular car has travelled only 52,000 original miles, still has
its factory original interior in it, and is running the factory
original 283 engine.
Purchased recently from its owner of 36 years we are very happy to
have this car in our inventory. Originally a factory black car (900
code) this car was a color change many, many years ago to a red/red
convertible. The paint presents extremely well and this car is
ready to be enjoyed and used just as it sits. The chrome and all
the stainless and aluminum trim are really nice and very
presentable. This Impala would be a welcome, proud edition at
virtually any cars and coffee or car show.
We beg you to admire the factory original interior and please never
change it. It's so rare in today's collector car world to find an
interior in a convertible that the factory actually installed that
it simply needs to be appreciated just as it is. Does it have some
color loss, yep. Does it have some wear, yep. Does it make us
smile, yep!!!!
The original 283 2bbl is a smooth-running engine and it's backed by
its original powerglide transmission. Just as it was designed this
combination motivated this old girl down the road quite nicely. The
brakes function just as they should.
As with all convertibles that started life in the Midwest this one
has some rust areas on the underside. The floors are very, very
good. The ends of some of the cross braces are soft. The rear body
mounts are rusted and a fairly easy repair. Can the car be driven
and enjoyed just as it is? ABSOLUTELY just as it has been for the
last 50 years. See the pictures of the underside they represent the
condition well. We know that for some, corrections could be made-
for others, the car would go on just as it is for a long time. You
pick.
The cowl tag options decode as; Powerglide, rear antenna, rear seat
speaker, padded dash, comfort package and seat belts. Just the way
we would have ordered it.
Drive it, show it, keep it in a bubble and polish it as a prized
possession, the choice is yours once you make it yours.
We stand behind our thoughts on this car by offering our travel
expenses guarantee- come see the car and if we have materially
misrepresented its condition we will gladly pay half of your travel
expenses up to $500.00- this offer had been in place since we sold
our first classic and we haven't paid the money yet.... We pride
ourselves on having good cars and representing them properly.
