When Ferrari unveiled the F12berlinetta at the 2012 Geneva Motor
Show, it replaced the 599 GTB Fiorano with a front-engine V12
berlinetta that was more compact, lighter, and considerably faster
than the car it succeeded. Developed by the Ferrari Styling Centre
in collaboration with Pininfarina, its body was shaped as much by
the wind tunnel as by the drawing board. Beneath the bodywork, a
new aluminum spaceframe proved both lighter and stiffer than its
predecessor's, and the engine, seats, and dashboard were all
positioned lower and farther rearward to improve weight
distribution and lower the center of gravity.
The F12's naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V12 produced 730 horsepower
at 8,250 rpm, making it the most powerful series-production Ferrari
yet built. Paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle, it
delivered zero-to-62 mph in 3.1 seconds and a top speed of more
than 210 mph, and it lapped Fiorano in 1:23, quicker than both the
Enzo and the 599 GTO. Carbon-ceramic brakes, magnetorheological
damping, and the latest generations of E-Diff and F1-Trac, all
governed by the steering wheel-mounted manettino, made that
performance unusually approachable, and contemporary road tests
praised the car as much for its composure as for its outright pace.
Produced until the arrival of the 812 Superfast in 2017, the
F12berlinetta remains one of the most complete expressions of
Ferrari's front-engine V12 formula.
This U.S.-market F12berlinetta, chassis number 212960, was
delivered new in October 2015 through Ferrari of Newport Beach,
California, finished in elegant Nero paint over Cuoio Naturale with
Nero contrast stitching. A copy of it's original window sticker
records $37,153 in factory options. The otherwise sober exterior is
punctuated by vibrant Giallo brake calipers, Scuderia Ferrari
fender shields, and 20-inch diamond-finish forged wheels, with a
carbon fiber front splitter sharpening the nose. The cabin is
appointed with fully electric seats, a carbon fiber steering wheel
with LED shift lights, Cavallino emblems stitched in black on the
headrests, and sport sill covers. A Suspension Lifter adds everyday
practicality, and the car's further factory options include the
Adaptive Frontlight System, a rear parking camera, and auto-dimming
interior and exterior mirrors with HomeLink.
The accompanying clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report shows the
Ferrari was titled in November 2015 to its first owner and
registered in Irvine, California. Throughout that ownership, the
car returned to its supplying dealer every year from 2016 through
2022. New tires were fitted at 8,277 miles in August 2019, and a
July 2020 service at 8,950 miles included a brake fluid flush,
replacement of the serpentine belt and tensioners, and an oil
change. A further brake fluid flush, serpentine belt replacement,
and oil service followed at 10,815 miles in October 2022.
Following a September 2024 service by EuroCar of Costa Mesa, the
F12 was sold in November 2024 with 11,320 miles to its second and
current owner, also in California. Ferrari of Newport Beach
inspected the car later that month, and it returned in October 2025
at 11,834 miles an annual service. The car visited the dealer most
recently at 11,925 miles in March 2026.
Now offered with just over 12,000 original miles at the time of
cataloging, accrued under just two owners from new, this
F12berlinetta pairs a consistent record of authorized Ferrari
service with a specification that forgoes the familiar Rosso Corsa
in favor of understated sophistication. Among the final Ferraris
shaped in collaboration with Pininfarina, its thoughtfully chosen
options make it an especially compelling example of what many
consider the ultimate expression of the front-engine V12 formula,
perfectly positioned at the intersection of traditional grand
touring and modern supercar capability.
