Cruisin Classics is excited to present to you this classic 1955
Chevrolet 210 Post car. This Tri-Five is a spectacular restoration
that is turn-key ready to hit the road and start collecting smiles
& making memories. This Chevy rolled off the assembly line of the
Norwood plant wearing Cashmere Blue and India Ivory paint and it
comes to us today with a similar look. The front end and lower body
is dressed in a light blue that looks like you could dive right
into it and the upper quarters, decklid, and top are done in white.
It is a stunning paint job that borders on show quality and the
color combination is fantastic. Not only was the body of the car
treated to new paint, the undercarriage is coated in the same
glossy blue and it is as clean as a pin. This is the kind of car
that deserves a mirror under it at a car show so that everyone can
appreciate the effort and money spent on the underside. Accenting
the slick paint is a plethora of mirror-finish chrome trim that the
Bel Air series is known for. The bulbous hood is home to a gleaming
airplane ornament and a colorful Chevy crest that's flanked by
round headlights in bright bezels at the front of the fenders.
Below is a distinct, iconic chrome eggcrate grille inspired by
European sports cars and Ferrari styling. Flanking the grille are
turn signal lights with bright surrounds and beneath is a
wrap-around chrome bumper with guards. As you move around to the
side of the car, the two-tone paint and even more chrome come into
the spotlight. The wrap-around windshield is framed by thick chrome
trim and fronted by bright wiper arms. The windows are all trimmed
in brightwork and they have been treated to new felts. The chrome
continues with dual side mirrors, door handles, and body side
molding. Above the side molding on the rear quarters is Bel Air
badging, though the car is a 210 model. This beauty sits on a set
of 15" 5-spoke chrome Crager SS wheels with faux knock-offs all
wrapped in newer white-letter Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires (2021).
Through the wheels you can see front calipers and rear drums that
are painted blue to match the body. At the rear of the car are
modest fins that are home to brightly trimmed taillight assemblies.
On the trunk lid is the chrome frame of another Chevy crest like
the one on the hood, but this one's center is red reflective
plastic because it is actually a third brake light. The rear bumper
mimics the one up front and peeking out from underneath are a set
of polished stainless steel exhaust tips.
Lift the big hood to find a gloss blue engine bay that's sure to
make any car enthusiast smile. At the heart is an orange 350
small-block V-8 with chrome "Chevrolet" valve covers, an Edelbrock
intake manifold, a red & chrome 4-barrel carburetor, and a Billet
oval air cleaner. Ahead of the engine is an A/C compressor (that's
right, nice cold air!), a chrome alternator, a power steering unit,
and an electric puller fan on the radiator. Red plug wires run down
the sides of the block and braided hoses with AN fittings have been
used for all the high pressure lines. The V-8 is mated up to a
Saginaw 4-speed manual transmission that gives the driver total
control of the experience. Exhaust flows through headers, new
stainless steel pipes, and Magnaflow mufflers before exiting the
rear with a rumble that's sure to please. Stopping power comes
courtesy of power front discs and rear drums, a newer-looking
master cylinder, and new lines.
When you open the drivers door you're greeted by a custom interior
that blends modern and classic elements while offering some very
desirable creature comforts. The seats, door panels, side panels,
package tray, headliner, visors, console armrest, and shift boot
are all dressed in the same fabric - a grey tweed with tiny dots of
blue, pink, and black woven in - giving the interior a cohesive
look. When you open the door, the dome courtesy light pops on and
so do lights on the rear of the console. The molded door panels
offer controls for power windows, handles, and vent window cranks.
All of the windows are surrounded by bright chrome trim. Seating
consists of two front buckets and a matching bench in back. The
front seats are power-adjustable and quite comfortable with no
visible demerits. Splitting the front buckets is a blue and white
fiberglass console that stretches all the way from the dash back to
the base of the rear seat. The curvaceous console features air
vents and swing-out cupholders for both front and rear passengers,
an armrest/storage box, a Hurst dog-leg shifter with a white
pattern ball, an Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo, and Alpine speakers. The
floors are covered with newer-looking tan loop carpet with black
carpeted floormats keeping it clean. The driver is treated to a
Lecarra 3-spoke black padded leather-wrapped steering wheel that
has a great hand-feel. The wheel is affixed to a chrome tilt
column. The blue painted dash ahead combines both classic and
modern touches. The stamped metal "bowtie band" that stretches from
side to side on the dash has been upgraded to an attractive billet
piece with a single bowtie at the center. The traditional V-shaped
gauge cluster is now outfitted with Dakota Digital gauges that
offer a speedometer, tachometer, and gauges for fuel, volts, oil,
and temp. The digital odometer reads 7,559 miles and we believe
that is likely the mileage since restoration. To the right of the
column are controls for the HVAC system that cranks out cold A/C
and hot heat on demand. Underneath the dash to the drivers right is
a kill switch. Ahead of the passenger is a digital clock in the
place where an old analog one used to be. Around back you'll find a
fully finished trunk done with the same tweed material as the car's
interior. Under the carpet on the trunk floor, in the space where
the spare tire would go, is the battery and behind the rear panel
is an Alpine amplifier for the stereo system.
This '55 Chevy is truly the best of both worlds - all the style and
looks of a classic Tri-Five paired with modern conveniences like
power steering, power brakes, cold A/C, power seats, power windows,
digital gauges, and a great stereo! This is a car that you can
comfortably drive anywhere and it's so good looking that it will
draw a crowd wherever you go! Don't hesitate, give our friendly
staff a call and make this Chevy your own before someone beats you
to it!
