Few modern Corvettes have achieved the instant-collectible status
of the C6 ZR1, and this exceptionally low-mile 2010 example checks
the boxes serious buyers look for. Finished in Blade Silver
Metallic over Ebony leather, showing just 3,250 miles, and equipped
with the highly desirable ZR3 Preferred Equipment Group, this ZR1
combines supercar-level performance with the unmistakable analog
character of a 6-speed manual Corvette.
At the heart of the ZR1 is Chevrolet's hand-assembled 6.2-liter LS9
supercharged V8, factory rated at 638 horsepower and 604 lb-ft of
torque. Power is sent through a 6-speed manual transmission with a
factory short-throw shifter and launch-control capability. The LS9
remains one of the most significant engines of the Corvette era,
and its blue-and-silver engine cover is visible through the
signature polycarbonate hood window.
The ZR1 was engineered as far more than a high-horsepower Corvette.
Its aluminum chassis is paired with Magnetic Selective Ride
Control, allowing the suspension to adapt for both road comfort and
aggressive performance. Massive Brembo carbon-ceramic disc brakes
provide the stopping power expected of a car with this level of
capability, while the 3.42 limited-slip rear axle puts the LS9's
power to the pavement.
Weight-saving carbon fiber is used extensively throughout the car,
including the hood, front fenders, roof panel, floor panels, front
splitter and rocker extensions. The exposed carbon-fiber roof
structure provides one of the ZR1's most recognizable visual
details.
This example retains the factory ZR1 chrome aluminum wheels,
measuring 19 inches up front and 20 inches at the rear. The factory
staggered setup is complemented by Michelin performance tires and
the large blue ZR1 brake calipers visible behind the wheels.
Inside, the Ebony cabin combines Corvette performance with the
additional equipment included in the ZR3 package. Amenities include
heated perforated leather sport seats, power seat adjustments,
driver memory settings, navigation, Bose premium audio, Bluetooth
connectivity, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control
and power accessories. A Head-Up Display keeps vital information in
the driver's line of sight without taking attention away from the
road.
The cockpit remains driver-focused, with the 220-mph ZR1
speedometer, dedicated ZR1 instrumentation, leather-wrapped
steering wheel and the manual shifter positioned exactly where it
belongs. The embroidered ZR1 seatbacks provide another subtle
reminder that this is not an ordinary C6.
The original equipment information shows this Corvette carried an
original MSRP of $119,845, including the $10,000 ZR3 Preferred
Equipment Group and $2,000 chrome-wheel option. With only 3,250
miles showing, the desirable 3ZR equipment package, Blade Silver
finish and 6-speed manual drivetrain, this is a highly compelling
example of Chevrolet's first production Corvette to eclipse 600
horsepower.
The C6 ZR1 represented a major turning point for Chevrolet
performance: carbon fiber, carbon-ceramic brakes, adaptive
suspension and a hand-built supercharged V8 packaged into a
Corvette that could compete with the world's most serious
performance cars. Low-mile, well-optioned examples like this
continue to stand out as some of the most important modern
Corvettes built.
