Some cars turn heads. This Cobra snaps them around.
Finished in Ford Poppy Red with Wimbledon White stripes, this
Factory Five Cobra brings iconic curves, supercharged Ford power,
and a tan leather cockpit that gives its aggressive exterior a
little unexpected class. With 449 horsepower and 416 lb-ft of
torque delivered to the rear wheels, it has the muscle to back up
every inch of that attitude.
Under the hood sits a Ford Racing 302 crate engine with GT40 heads
and a roller valvetrain, force-fed by an intercooled ProCharger
SC-1 supercharger. A Quick Fuel carburetor handles fueling, while
MSD billet ignition lights the fire. Ceramic-coated headers and
side pipes give this snake the soundtrack it deserves.
A Centerforce clutch, World Class T-5 five-speed, and UPR shifter
put you in command. Out back, a Ford 8.8-inch positraction
differential packs 3.73 Richmond gears and Ford Racing axles. Pick
your gear, roll into the throttle, and let the boost do the
talking.
The chassis gets just as much attention. Tubular front control
arms, Flaming River rack-and-pinion steering, and Bilstein
coilovers at all four corners work with a four-link rear suspension
and FFR link bars. Four-wheel Baer brakes with dual-piston calipers
provide stopping power, with 13.6-inch front rotors and 12-inch
rears tucked behind 17-inch American Racing Hopster wheels wrapped
in Falken Z-rated tires.
Inside, the complete tan leather interior brings a finished, custom
look, carried through to the matching leather-trimmed trunk. A
Kenwood head unit with an MTX amplifier, speakers, and subwoofer
supplies the tunes whenever you want something besides the side
pipes.
Classic Cobra shape. Supercharged punch. Five gears worth of bad
decisions waiting to happen.
