GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this beautifully restored
1958 Dodge D100 Sweptside for your consideration. This D100 comes
in a striking Red and White exterior over a distinctive Gold and
Black interior. Powering this Dodge is a 315 cubic inch V8
producing 204 horsepower, paired with its original cast iron
TorqueFlite automatic transmission. This highly optioned Sweptside
is geared with a 3.73 rear end and features a numbers-matching
drivetrain. One of just 975 Sweptside models built in 1958, this
well-cared-for truck has a fascinating history. Sold new in
California, it was shipped to Detroit in the 1990s by Richard Kuhn
and stored in the Packard plant until 2003. Reported to have no
rust, this Dodge received a full body-off and bed-off restoration
completed in 2014. The restoration and mechanical work included a
new oak bed with stainless steel strips, an engine bored .030 over,
new piston rings, new bearings, a new camshaft and lifters, new
clutches and seals, rebuilt front and rear axles retaining the
original brakes, a rebuilt electrical system, new pumps, a new
carburetor, and the addition of a four-way flasher. This D100 also
features a large rear window, power steering, undercoating, a posi
axle, and much more. Drive this one out of our showroom or have us
assist with shipping it to you anywhere in the United States! Don't
hesitate to call us with any questions or for more information.
The 1958 Dodge D100 Sweptside was a distinctive offering in Dodge's
D-Series pickup truck lineup, combining the utility of a
traditional pickup with unique styling inspired by the automotive
design trends of the 1950s. The Sweptside stood apart from
conventional pickups with its dramatic rear fenders, which borrowed
styling cues from Dodge's passenger cars and gave the truck a
distinctive, car-like appearance. Introduced during an era when
American automakers were embracing bold designs, chrome accents,
and expressive bodywork, the Sweptside represented Dodge's effort
to appeal to buyers who wanted both practical truck capability and
standout styling. Produced in limited numbers, these trucks have
become sought-after collector vehicles thanks to their rarity,
unique design, and place in the history of American pickup
trucks.
