Some hot rods blend in. This Burnt Copper '32 Ford Coupe makes that
damn near impossible. A towering 6-71 blower, ceramic-coated
zoomies, and polished American Racing wheels give it the kind of
presence that stops conversations before the engine even fires.
Under the hood sits a 383 small block Chevy topped with a 6-71
supercharger from The Blower Shop, fed by dual Quick Fuel
carburetors. Aluminum heads round out the combination, while
Sanderson ceramic-coated zoomies put the hardware-and the
attitude-right out in the open. This is hot-rodding with its
sleeves rolled up.
Backing that blown small block is a 700R4 overdrive transmission
with a 2,800-stall converter, sending power to a Strange 9-inch
positraction rear end with an aluminum center section and 3.73
gears. An aluminum radiator and remote engine and transmission oil
coolers help manage the heat.
The chassis brings its own serious equipment. Up front, a chrome
transverse spring setup pairs with rack-and-pinion steering. Out
back, a four-link suspension with Strange adjustable coilovers
supports the rear. Four-wheel power disc brakes with braided lines
round out the package, with Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires
finishing the stance.
Inside, the attitude gives way to custom tan leather, analog
gauges, and Vintage Air conditioning. A Pioneer six-speaker sound
system supplies the soundtrack whenever you feel like giving the
small block a little competition.
Big blower. Burnt Copper. Tan leather. All the right ingredients
for a hot rod that demands a second look.
