automatic-Excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition-Unmodified,
all-originalOverviewAre the 200-series Land Cruisers the ultimate
modern Toyota SUV? Considering that the brand new 250-series Land
Cruiser has very few novel features over this 2014 LC200, but has
exponentially more electronics to go wrong, and no engine options
other than a handful of four-cylinders being inflated by howling
turbochargers and high-voltage hybrid systems. This 200-series? One
of Toyota's most durable drivetrains, the 5.7 3UR-FE backed by the
6-speed AB60F automatic, found in millions of Toyota trucks and
SUVs over the past 20 years. And frankly, you're not giving up much
in the way of safety, comfort, or off-road features - and the
mechanical simplicity of these 200-series has driven their
legendary status in overland adventure communities, desired by
those who want the ultimate mix of comfort and capability. We at
Car Cave believe this is one of the true unicorns in the 4x4 world,
something that's as presentable at the country club as it is
capable of tackling a trip to Moab. This particular 2014 Toyota Land
Cruiser is a well taken care of with low miles. We really didn't
have to dive into this one much, it had driven a pretty average
~10,000 miles per year but saw no hard use as far as we can tell.
All features operate as they should, and the truck is mechanically
like-new.The Ebony Black paint is in good overall condition with no
major scratches or damage, though showing minor knicks here and
there from the past 12 years of use. Beyond that, the truck
presents itself well and has been totally unaltered or modified.
Really the only thing done to it is a set of 285/60R16 BFG K02
all-terrains.The interior reflects this condition as well, minor
signs of wear but otherwise in excellent shape. The LC200 is a
fully-featured truck even by modern standards, in large part thanks
to its numerous comfort and safety features. Automatic climate
control with three zones, one for each passenger up front and a
rear zone for the back seats. The front seats are heated and
cooled, rears are also heated. It features an active 360-degree
parking camera system, cleverly picking cameras only when you need
them. And when you dive down into the 4x4 system, you have the same
terrain and crawl control systems sold today - Toyota just beat
everyone to the punch with the LC200 before these features were so
common. The leather, plastics, and switch gear have held up great,
indicators of Toyota's overall attention to quality. And we do have
to emphasize how great the 5.7L V8 powertrain is, one of Toyota's
most proven and reliable. The introduction of turbo-four engines
backed by hybrid transmissions in the new LC250 was forced into the
market due to fuel economy standards, not because it's the best
possible product for Land Cruiser buyers. The 3UR-FE and AB60F are
leaders in long-term dependability studies from the likes of JD
Power, Consumer Reports, and Dashboard Light, and will continue to
service this LC200 for many more miles. It's an understressed
drivetrain that's miles simpler than the modern Toyota examples
while still offering a refined and capable driving experience.
