The 1940 Ford has long been a hot rod builder's favorite, thanks to
its rounded bodywork, distinctive front end, and timeless
proportions. This custom Tudor Sedan takes that familiar design in
a colorful direction, pairing Emerald Green and Sage Metallic paint
with a small block Chevy V8 and a beautifully finished
interior.
Under the hood, a 327 cubic inch V8 topped with a four-barrel
carburetor pairs with a Turbo 350 three-speed automatic
transmission. Headers and Thrush mufflers give the small block a
classic hot rod soundtrack, while a Ford 8-inch rear end handles
power delivery. Power steering and power brakes, plus front discs,
make this '40 Ford comfortable to drive on the street.
The two-tone Emerald Green and Sage Metallic exterior is accented
by green and yellow pinstriping that follows the Ford's flowing
body lines. Shaved door handles give the body a cleaner look, while
staggered 15-inch and 17-inch American Racing five-spoke wheels add
a modern street-rod stance. Even the engine bay is carefully
detailed to complement the rest of the build.
Inside, custom tan bucket seats are joined by a matching center
console, custom headliner, tilt steering wheel, and Sony stereo.
Power windows and air conditioning add modern convenience, while
the trunk matches the passenger compartment.
With its distinctive paint combination, detailed craftsmanship, and
dependable small block power, this 1940 Ford Tudor Sedan offers
plenty to appreciate. It is a classic American street rod ready for
weekend cruises, local car shows, and the pleasure of hearing that
327 rumble through its Thrush mufflers.
