This fully restored 1966 Ford Thunderbird Convertible is a Q-code
example powered by the optional 428ci V8 and paired with a C6
3-speed automatic transmission. Finished in Honeydew Yellow, also
known as Ivy Yellow, over a Parchment interior, it is equipped with
a broad selection of power features and period accessories. The
1966 model year marked the final year of the fourth-generation
Thunderbird and the last Thunderbird convertible until 2002. Ford
produced 5,049 Thunderbird Convertibles for 1966. The optional
Q-code 428ci V8 was factory rated at 345 hp. Under the hood is the
428ci Q-code V8 connected to the C6 3-speed automatic transmission.
The body-color engine compartment is finished in Honeydew Yellow,
and the engine is dressed with a chrome air cleaner and chrome
valve covers. Exterior features include a black power convertible
top, reverse-opening retractable trunk, optional rear seat sport
tonneau cover, rear deck luggage rack, Continental kit, rear fender
skirts, period spotlights, chrome wire wheels and whitewall tires.
The trunk compartment is finished in gray carpeting. Inside,
Parchment bucket seats flank a full-length center console.
Equipment includes power windows, power steering, power brakes,
swing-away steering column, remote- control driver-side mirror,
period-correct 8-track player and factory-style instrumentation.
The wraparound dash and console retain the fourth-generation
Thunderbird cockpit layout. The combination of the Q-code 428ci V8,
convertible body style, final-year production and period power
equipment defines this fourth-generation Thunderbird configuration.
