This is a two-owner vehicle purchased by the current owner in the
early 1970's. The owner was a personal friend of the car design and
customizer George Barris. Barris suggested he could modernize and
embellish the overall coach-built esthetics of the car by replacing
the factory round headlights with rectangular lights which were
sourced from a Cadillac Eldorado. This transformation flowed
flawlessly. He also installed a power sunroof. The car retains its
factory original leather upholstery. All the interior hardwood
veneer and clear including the dash, the trim plus the rear folding
picnic tables are extremely well preserved showing excellent. At
81,000 miles in 2020, the owner invested $14,000 at OMAG Automotive
in Palm Springs, California, to mechanically bring the car up to
the condition as you view it here currently. The odometer currently
reads 81,051. The factory original paint color was brown. The owner
had it professionally repainted black in the 1980's and is
deteriorating in areas and will need attention.
