!1971 FORD TORINO COBRA 429
4V, CJ RAM AIR (J CODE), #'S MATCHING
This is a slick car! Restored, documented with a Marti Report and
original build sheet! This is 1 of 208 with this color and trim
codes! Only 408 in Grabber Green. The paint is very nice, it is
polished to a smooth, glossy finish. Looking down both sides it is
laser straight. The bumpers were rechromed. The headlight bezels
and weatherstrips were replaced. It also has Magnum 500 chrome
wheels and BFG tires, wider in back to complete the aggressive look
it deserves.
It has black knit bucket seat interior with the center console and
an original floor shifter coming out of it. Overall very good
shape. The upholstery looks really good from the carpet to the
headliner including the door panels and side rear panels. The dash
area is very good, not cut up or broken. It features the optional
ribbon tachometer and gauges, rim blow factory steering wheel and
an aftermarket Bluetooth AM/FM radio.
The motor compartment is clean and proper featuring a great running
number matching 429-4V CJ J code 370 hp engine. It has stock
manifolds, valve covers and air cleaner, washer bottle, fan shroud
and power steering.
The trunk compartment is solid and painted Grabber Green. The trunk
lid is glossy. Weatherstrip and mat were replaced. It is complete
with jack assembly and spare tire.
The under carriage looks to be all clean metal and original, no
signs of rust or patches. The front end was rebuilt . Also new drag
link, tie rod, pitman arm, idler arm and steering gear. In back the
leaf springs and shocks were replaced. The fuel sending unit and
fuel tank were replaced. It has a newer X pipe dual exhaust system
that runs all the way out the back with chrome exhaust tips. The
brakes were redone with power front disc brakes. Looking up at the
motor it is clean, and also the C-6 automatic 3 speed automatic
transmission. It has an optional traction lock rear end with 3:50
running gears.
A lot of bang for the buck! It will turn heads for sure. It's
documented, nostalgic, unique and very well restored!
