1970 OLDSMOBILE 442
#'S MATCHING 455., A/C, P/S, PDB, BUILD SHEET, REAL DEAL!
What a looker with the stripes, big scoops and spoiler! Fit and
finish is amazing. Show quality body and paint. It is absolutely
straight front to back. Every square inch of it is smooth and
glossy. The original Rally Red code 73. The clear coat is polished
like glass. The black stripes were correctly applied and are smooth
to the touch. It has a factory Ram Air hood, not the cheap
reproduction. There are no cracks in the hood. It features a rear
spoiler on the trunk. It has sport mirrors that are unique to 1970.
Upfront it all looks new- the grill, trim, emblems, bumper,
headlight bezels and the chrome hood locks. Door handles are good.
The stainless trim is straight and shiny. In back the bumper and
lenses were replaced. It sports factory Rally wheels with newer
BFGoodrich TA radial tires. The door jambs are painted real glossy
and smooth. The weather strips and sill plates are like new.
The interior is very nice and unabused. It's full of accessories.
In front of me is a really nice dash area. Nothing is cut or
broken. It has the Rallye gauge cluster and the Tic Toc Tachometer.
The gauges were all sent out and restored, and the clock was
upgraded with quartz movement. The bezels, knob, heater A/C control
panel, original AM radio (that works) are all in real nice shape.
It has a sport steering wheel. Down on the floor is real nice
carpet, reproduction Oldsmobile mats and a full set of original GM
seat belts. The center console is in good shape and the best part
is the Hurst Dual Gate shifter sticking out of it. The seats and
door panels are not new but look nice, armrests are nice as well.
The headliner and visors look very good. The rearview mirror is
original and the dome light works.
The number matching 455 ci motor runs awesome! It has a W-30 CAM
added, complete Ram Air induction system, clutch fan, power
steering, power front disc brakes and new hoses. Everything is
clean, proper, and painted nicely.
The trunk is clean metal and is very neatly spatter painted. It has
a spare tire and complete jack assembly including the lug wrench.
The bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb are painted real smooth
and glossy. The weatherstrip has been replaced and has the proper
decals.
Under this car is exceptionally clean. It has the Rally suspension
which includes sway bars and boxed rear control arms. The front end
has been completely rebuilt. I can see the ball joints, bushings,
springs and shocks have been replaced. In the back it has new
bushings, springs and gas shocks. Factory style exhaust system with
the trumpet tips going out through the back bumper. The fuel system
has been replaced including the tank, straps, sending unit and fuel
line. The brakes are disc in front, the hoses and fuel lines are
replaced, E-brake assembly is hooked up. The bottom of the motor is
clean. It has a 12-bolt rear end with 3.23 running gears. The
bottom of the car is really dry, clean metal. The floors, rockers
and braces are all really nice.
This is one hot muscle car!
