The 1967 Chevrolet Corvette represents the final and arguably most
refined year of the legendary second-generation C2 design.
Introduced for 1963 with its revolutionary split-window Sting Ray
coupe, the C2 Corvette brought an entirely new level of
sophistication to America's sports car, featuring a fully
independent rear suspension, a shorter wheelbase, and a rigid
ladder-type frame with a reinforced central structure. Its
distinctive styling, inspired by the Mako Shark concept, evolved
through the years with improved performance, handling, and braking.
By 1967, the Sting Ray had become a formidable performance machine,
and the final-year C2 remains highly desirable among collectors for
its combination of mature engineering, timeless styling, and direct
connection to the Corvette's racing heritage.
This 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is finished in
factory-correct Code 900 Tuxedo Black over a Black Vinyl interior,
complemented by a matching black vinyl convertible top. Originally
specified with Code 402 Black Leather upholstery, the interior has
since been retrimmed in vinyl. Under the hood resides its
numbers-matching L79 327ci V8, factory rated at 350 horsepower,
paired with a desirable four-speed manual transmission. The L79 was
among Chevrolet's most celebrated small-block performance engines,
combining a high-lift hydraulic camshaft, high-compression pistons,
and a Holley four-barrel carburetor to deliver exhilarating
performance in a remarkably compact package.
Further enhancing its driving character, this Corvette features
power steering, a 3.08 Positraction rear axle, aluminum bolt-on
alloy wheels, and BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial redline tires
measuring 205/75R15. Modern conveniences include a Vintage Air
air-conditioning system and a Custom Autosound AM/FM/Aux/Bluetooth
audio system with upgraded dashboard and kick-panel speakers. An
auxiliary hardtop is also included, offering additional versatility
for seasonal driving.
Approximately 2018, this Corvette underwent an extensive body-off
restoration addressing both its presentation and mechanical
integrity. The work included rebuilt drivetrain, new suspension
components, stainless-steel fuel and brake lines, fresh rubber
bushings, braking components, new wiring, weather stripping,
interior upholstery, and a new convertible top. The exterior was
professionally refinished and polished to a mirror-like finish,
resulting in a striking presentation that complements the car's
classic black-on-black color scheme.
In 2023, further upgrades were completed to enhance reliability and
year-round drivability. A complete Vintage Air system was installed
alongside a Holley Sniper electronic fuel-injection system,
providing modern fuel delivery and improved drivability while
retaining the character of the original small-block V8. Recently
serviced and fully sorted, this Corvette is ready for immediate
enjoyment.
As the concluding year of the C2 generation, the 1967 Corvette
occupies a special place in Chevrolet history. Its timeless
styling, numbers-matching L79 performance, four-speed transmission,
extensive restoration, and thoughtfully selected modern upgrades
make this Tuxedo Black convertible an appealing blend of vintage
Corvette character and contemporary driving comfort.
