Beautiful pro-built street rod. Bulletproof drivetrain with 350
Chevrolet V8, TH350 automatic, Ford 9-inch rear. A/C, power
windows, leather, and more! Nicely finished throughout. A cool rod
with an awesome stance that's 100% ready to rumble!?Building a rod
can be tough and getting the look exactly right is the hardest
part. Go too far and it looks weird and too stock looks, well, too
stock. That's why we like this 1947 Ford convertible so much:
someone got the look exactly right. It's still unquestionably a
post-war Ford ragtop, but with shaved trim, a wicked stance, and a
few clever details, it stands out without being radical or odd.
Traditional tricks like Frenched headlights, nosed hood, and smooth
trunk lid give it a custom look without erasing its identity. Of
course, bathing it in bright red paint doesn't hurt, and as you can
see in the photos, the sheetmetal work underneath is first-rate.
This sucker is straight! Little stuff like the pinstripes on the
hood and trunk, the 'cat's eye' headlights, and Vee'd windshield
help with the custom look, and we like that they didn't go too far
removing factory Ford details. That's why you'll find an original
grille and bumpers, factory oval taillights, and those cool side
mirrors, all of which look very much from the 1940s. From any
angle, this Ford just gets it right.?The interior gets the full
custom treatment, starting with all that tan leather wrapped around
a pair of late-model bucket seats. Custom door panels and side
panels in the back seat area look sleek, and there are beautifully
fitted carpets on the floor. The original dash has been reworked
and now holds a full array of VDO white-face gauges to monitor the
engine's health, and a custom panel underneath neatly integrates
the Vintage Air A/C vents. A tilt steering column holds a
banjo-style billet wheel with more matching tan leather, and
there's a powerful Kenwood head unit with a functional power
antenna on the rear deck. Look closely and you'll see thoughtful
details like the integrated seat belts, floor-mounted hand brake,
and those little cranks for the vent windows on the doors. The
build has about 20,000 miles on it, so there's a bit of wear on the
driver's seat, but nothing substantial and the quality materials
have proven to be durable. There's enough room in the back seat for
real-sized people, and the convertible top comes with a matching
tan boot that gives it a clean top-down look. The trunk is also
nicely finished and big enough for all the gear you need for car
shows and road trips. This Ford is ready to go!?It breaks no new
ground under the skin, which is a good thing. Why change what
works? The engine is a 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 with a 4-barrel
carburetor, dual exhaust, and lots of chrome. It's not radical, so
it starts easily, idles nicely, and has a cool V8 soundtrack that's
perfect for a rod you're going to want to drive. Plumbing is neatly
done, and with a power brake booster on the firewall, braking is
confident. There's also a big radiator up front, a new chrome
alternator, and service access is pretty good. Like I said, why
mess with a good thing? Underneath, there's a TH350 3-speed
automatic transmission that shifts crisply, and it feeds a Ford
rear end with highway-friendly gears inside. The independent front
suspension is a Mustang II setup with tubular A-arms, coil-overs,
and trailing links, while leaf springs hold up the rear. Power
front disc brakes and power steering make it easy to handle, and it
rides rather well with no crashing or banging over bumps.
Flowmaster-style mufflers offer a traditional hot rod soundtrack
and polished Torque Thrust wheels are the right choice, with these
wrapped in staggered 215/65/15 front and 235/70/15 rear BFGoodrich
radials.?Extras include receipts from the build and recent
maintenance, plus some spare parts like power window motors.?For
us, the best street rods are the ones you can get in and enjoy
right away. No fussy high-horsepower engines, no high-effort
transmissions, no racecar aluminum interiors, just clean
functionality. This Ford certainly qualifies, because it's super
easy to drive and looks great going down the road. It attracts a
ton of attention in the showroom, so someone obviously got the look
right. And isn't that really the point? Call today!Harwood Motors
