Classic Car Addict is proud to present this 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe
for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. Introduced in April 1964,
the Mustang quickly became an American automotive icon, helping
establish the popular pony car segment with its sporty styling and
affordable V8 performance. This C-code hardtop coupe is finished in
eye-catching Poppy Red over a refreshed black-and-cream Pony-style
interior. Powered by a rebuilt 289ci V8 paired with a rebuilt
automatic transmission, this Mustang also features upgraded power
brakes, added air conditioning, and several interior improvements
that make it an appealing classic cruiser.
Exterior:
Finished in vibrant Poppy Red, this Mustang showcases the timeless
styling of Ford's first-generation pony car. Exterior details
include chrome front and rear bumpers, the iconic running-horse
grille emblem, FORD hood lettering, chrome side mirrors, Mustang
fender badging, and polished window trim. Chrome quarter-panel
ornaments and the signature sculpted side coves complete its
classic appearance.
Interior:
The cabin features a refreshed black-and-cream Pony-style interior
with newly upholstered vinyl bucket seats featuring pleated cream
inserts, black bolsters, and embossed running-horse detailing. A
matching rear bench seat, new black carpeting, new headliner, and
cream-colored door panels complete the two-tone appearance. The
dashboard retains its horizontal 120-mph speedometer, factory-style
gauges, and vintage-style push-button radio. Additional features
include a wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, full-length
center console, automatic floor shifter, and added air conditioning
with under-dash vents. A Kicker CXA360.4 four-channel amplifier is
mounted in the trunk, which has been finished with black-and-white
plaid carpeting and matching covers. The five-digit odometer shows
**61,944 miles, true mileage unknown (TMU).
Engine:
Under the hood is a Ford 289ci V8, consistent with the Mustang's
original C-code engine designation. The engine has been rebuilt,
with fewer than 5,000 miles reported since completion. It features
blue-painted valve covers, a performance-style round air cleaner,
carbureted induction, and a clean black engine compartment.
Additional equipment includes an engine-driven cooling fan,
shock-tower reinforcement brace, and components for the added
air-conditioning system.
Transmission:
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rebuilt automatic
transmission, also reported to have fewer than 5,000 miles since
the rebuild. The transmission is operated by a floor-mounted
shifter housed in the center console.
Wheels and Tires:
The Mustang rides on 15-inch five-spoke styled steel-style wheels
featuring black recessed centers, polished outer rims, and Mustang
running-horse center caps. They are wrapped in Kumho Solus TA31
radial tires, with 205/60R15 rear tires, providing a classic
appearance with modern radial tire construction.
Suspension:
The Mustang retains its traditional first-generation suspension
design, featuring independent front suspension with coil springs
and control arms, along with a solid rear axle supported by leaf
springs.
Brakes:
The braking system has been upgraded with power assistance,
reducing pedal effort and adding convenience for everyday
cruising.
Recent Work:
Recent improvements include rebuilt engine and transmission
assemblies, new seat upholstery, new carpeting, a new headliner,
upgraded power brakes, and added air conditioning. Both the engine
and transmission are reported to have fewer than 5,000 miles since
their rebuilds.
The 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe will be sold on a clean Arizona title.
