Here is a really original presenting, second series Rolls-Royce
Silver Spirit finished in magnificent Masons black with honey tan
Connolly hides throughout accented with dramatic black Wilton wool
carpeting piped in seat matching tan leather. It has twin fine
lines to the waist-rails in the interior matching tan, as are also
the hubcap beauty rings. The car has a very strong masculine and
formal presentation to her. A wonderful combination. These Silver
Spirits are not so often seen anymore and it is truly a delight to
come across such an original presenting example such as this one.
Especially with a stunningly low 25,000 miles! The Rolls-Royce
Silver Spirit is powered by a 6.75 litre Rolls-Royce designed and
built V8 engine with the Bosch fuel injection system which provides
ultra smooth touring. The 1989 year represents one of the best for
the Silver Spirit & Spur models. This example is very clean Beverly
Hills car all its life and presents original in almost every
detail. A 2-owner example that resided almost all its life in
California, where all of her miles were clocked, and then with only
a very short recent stint in Florida. She has a perfectly clean
Carfax history, regularly serviced with anything requiring doing,
attended to. Recently, all the hydraulics and braking system were
inspected and serviced as required. Under the bonnet, the
presentation is very clean. It has not been precision detailed but
simply well-kept and maintained throughout its life. The car
throughout, under the bonnet and underside look every bit of a low
mileage Rolls-Royce. The body of the car is straight, clean and
totally accident free. The car was repainted in her original colour
for reasons we do not know and presents well with a high gloss,
deep lustre and pretty much without issues. There are a couple of
imperfections here and there but nothing extraordinary. Outside of
this, all glass, rubbers, mouldings, stainless, badges and external
fittings are all in good condition. One thing that really stands
this Spirit apart from most others in the US is the fitment of
original and factory correct rectangular glass headlamps. These
replace the rather unattractive 4 x rectangle sealed-beam
(alla-Cadillac look) headlights which were a US-mandated
specification at the time. The form-fit rectangular units now
fitted is how the designers intended the car to present and, in
fact, were used for the rest of the world ("ROW") - the difference
is outstandingly better. The interior on this car is stunning.
Simply without issue and just gorgeous and completely original in
presentation. The un-touched factory original Connolly leather
shows beautifully and all presents very clean with the seat leather
supple and soft. It is without marks or blemishes and presents very
elegantly. (Any lines or color variations you see in the photos are
just the natural grains characteristics of Connolly hides which,
for some reason, are exaggerated in the photos. The close-up photos
clearly show their almost perfect condition.). The dash "top-roll"
and rear parcel shelf are nice. Almost all Spirits and Spurs from
1981 thru to the late 90s have suffered sun and heat damage which
causes the leather to dry and contract. Especially around the
windshield vents. The headliner is simply "like new" and the
carpets still "wool-ball" like new ones. All remaining fixtures and
fittings are truly nice and I best encourage you to look at all the
photos to fully appreciate how well the interior presents. The burl
walnut throughout is pretty much close to perfect - an adjective I
very rarely use - without cracks, blemishes nor fading. It is all
factory original and has never been refinished. There is one
hairline fracture in the left rear picnic table and a small one
near the speedometer but hardly noticeable. On that point, picnic
table were only standard on the Silver spur and not the Siler
Spirit. This would have been a special order and is rare to see.
