Cruisin Classics is proud to present to you this stunning
low-mileage 1978 Chevrolet Camaro LT. This Camaro was born with
both the luxury touring package and an upgrade to the 350ci V-8,
and now it has been transformed into a Z28 tribute as well! The car
rolled off the line with Carmine Metallic paint (77L), and it has
been treated to a very high-quality respray in that same color. The
paint is perfectly complemented by a new two-tone orange Z28 decal
kit that accents the faux hood scoop and wraps around the lower
body. At the front of the car is the new-for-'78 body-color
urethane bumper cover/front clip. The new angular front clip
includes black bucketed headlights and turn signal lights and a
two-tier black eggcrate grille with orange "Z28" badging. Moving
around to the side, you can't help but notice the sporty louvered
fender vents (found only on Z28s) and "CAMARO Z28" fender decals.
Those vents aren't the only thing that catches the eye, though -
there are dual body-color side mirrors, color-keyed door handle
inserts, bright side window trim, hideaway wipers, and that cool
fastback roofline that leads down to the iconic 3-piece rear
spoiler. The side view is further complemented by a set of 15" Z28
aluminum turbine wheels, all wrapped in Mickey Thompson
white-letter Sportsman S/T tires. Around back, you'll find another
molded urethane bumper cover, a set of clear tri-color taillights,
a Z28 badged fuel fill door, and orange stripe decals on the rear
of the spoiler. Dual exhaust tips under the bumper emit an
appropriate V-8 growl. Take a peek underneath to see a very clean
undercarriage and newer pipes & mufflers.
Lift the hood to find a very clean stock engine bay that's home to
the original numbers-matching 350ci LM1 V-8. We have a photocopy of
the original window sticker, and it shows that this engine upgrade
cost $300 when new. The block, intake, and valve covers are all
painted blue, and topping things off are a 4-barrel carburetor and
a black GM single-snorkel air cleaner. A quick look around reveals
that this Camaro is equipped with power steering and power front
disc brakes (drums on rear). The healthy V-8 is mated to a TH350
3-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels
via a 10-bolt rear axle. Exhaust travels through cast manifolds and
the aforementioned pipes and mufflers before emptying in the rear.
The car runs and drives exceptionally well out on the road, and the
350 engine's added pep makes it all that much more fun.
Swing open the long driver's door to find an impeccably
well-presented Carmine red interior. The trim tag on this Camaro
tells us that it was born with a white vinyl interior (11N), but it
now boasts deluxe cloth Carmine seats and door panels. The door
panels, the front seat covers, and the red vinyl headliner were
replaced in 2023 (per receipts), and they still look like new. The
door panels are a mix of red carpet, red vinyl, and fabric with
armrests, manual windows, and a driver's mirror toggle. A bright
Fisher sill plate leads the way inside to plush red pile carpet
that's kept nice with rubber GM floor mats. The front buckets and
rear bench back seats are in flawless condition and the patterned
fabric inserts really make the interior pop. A factory center
console splits the front buckets and offers an armrest/storage box,
a shifter for the automatic transmission, and a 6-band EQ that's
part of the sound system. Ahead of the driver is a 4-spoke "Type
LT" steering wheel with a working horn on a tilt column. The turn
signal lever does double duty by offering factory cruise control
(untested). Beyond the wheel is a crack-free red dash with a
textured gauge and instrument bezel that wraps around the driver.
Within the curved panel are controls for the lights and working
2-speed wipers, a 130mph speedometer and 7K tach, a shift
indicator, a clock (inop,), and working gauges for fuel, volts, and
temperature. The odometer reads only 31,380 miles and the title
confirms the mileage to be actual! Under the bezel to the drivers
left are working heat and fan controls and to the right is a
Concord AM/FM/Cassette stereo. There are Concord speakers in the
kick panels and 6X9 speakers under factory covers back on the rear
package tray. Around back in the vinyl-walled trunk are two Linear
power amps, one Denon MOSFET power amp, and a "Punch Classic"
subwoofer on each sidewall. Needless to say, this is one rockin'
stereo!
Whether you're hunting for a second-gen Camaro or just a cool 70's
muscle car, you're going to want to take a serious look at this '78
Camaro LT! It's got beautiful paint, cool Z28 looks, a 350 V-8 with
a 4-barrel carburetor, power steering, power front disc brakes, a
gorgeous like-new interior, and a great sounding stereo - all it
needs is you in the drivers seat with a set of keys! Don't wait,

Camaro don't last long here at Cruisin Classics!
