1948 Cadillac Series 62 for sale! Motorcar Classics is pleased to
present this striking 1948 Cadillac Series 62 Club Coupe,
which seamlessly blends iconic post-war American styling
with high-performance, modern street-rod engineering. Purchased in
2021 from a family member's estate, the car has been meticulously
stored in Virginia following years of display and enjoyment by its
previous long-term caretaking family. Between 2006 and 2012, this
vehicle underwent a comprehensive, frame-off restoration and custom
build executed by skilled craftsmen in Maryland. Reflecting its
careful post-restoration use, the coupe shows just 1,113 miles on
the odometer since completion.Powering this luxury cruiser is a
massive 500ci V8 sourced from a 1973 Cadillac, upgraded with a 750
CFM Edelbrock carburetor featuring an electronic choke and a
reliable PerTronix electronic ignition system. Power is routed
through a rebuilt 2004R 4-speed overdrive automatic transmission
that delivers precise, smooth shifts with zero hesitation or slip.
The driveline includes a highly dependable Ford 9-inch rear axle,
while the suspension and steering systems remain tight and
responsive with zero play. Stopping power comes from Chevy II front
disc brakes and Wilwood rear disc brakes, bringing the car to a
confident, straight stop on Hankook tires bearing late-2018 date
codes. The exterior is finished in an elegant metallic Cashmere
Tri-Coat three-stage paint, applied in July 2007 by Nelson's Auto
Restoration in Mechanicsville, Maryland. The finish remains in
exceptional, show-ready condition, accompanied by fully refreshed
chrome and stainless trim. During the frame-off restoration, the
frame was completely sandblasted and recoated, leaving the body
panels, rocker panels, and undercarriage entirely free of
structural rust-with only minor, isolated cosmetic flaws from light
road use, all documented in detail. The sleek, smooth body line is
accentuated by custom shaved door and trunk handles, which operate
via electronic solenoids.Inside, the cabin features a bespoke red
and beige interior crafted by Shade Street Rod and Custom, showing
no splitting or wear across all four plush, tailored seats. Deep
red carpet and floor mats run throughout the cabin, harmonizing
with a suite of fully functional interior controls, gauges, and the
factory heating system. Modern amenities include an air horn and a
custom-designed sound system supporting AM/FM, USB, and AUX
inputs-discreetly installed with the head unit in the glove
compartment and central audio hardware hidden behind a decorative
panel in the trunk. Every element of exterior lighting, from the
headlights to the high beams and turn signals, functions
flawlessly, making this custom Series 62 a turnkey, exceptionally
detailed collector automobile.
