1964 Ford Galaxie 500 XL
This 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 XL is a great-looking driver finished in
white with a unique monochromatic appearance featuring
white-painted bumpers, grille, and exterior trim. The body is solid
and straight overall, and the car rides on polished 15-inch Cragar
wheels with a staggered tire setup featuring BFGoodrich tires up
front and larger Tiger Paw tires in the rear.
Power comes from a strong-running 390ci V8 paired with a C6
automatic transmission. It is equipped with power steering, an
upgraded aluminum radiator with electric fan, and manual drum
brakes all around. The engine runs great, and the car drives and
stops well for its setup.
Inside is a black cloth bucket-seat interior with the
original-style dashboard, a steering-column-mounted tachometer, and
an old-school working Craig radio. The trunk is carpet lined and
includes a spare tire cover along with a spare wheel, although no
tire is currently mounted to it.
The underbody appears solid overall and rot free, with some typical
surface rust and age visible on portions of the floors, frame, rear
axle, and suspension components with one patch done on the
passenger floorboard. Overall, this is a great-looking 1964 Galaxie
500 XL with classic styling, V8 power, bucket-seat interior, and
tasteful upgrades that make it an excellent weekend cruiser.
Overall, this Galaxie is a very presentable driver with a few
cosmetic flaws and some finishing work that could be addressed over
time. It is not being represented as a show car, but rather a
solid, good-running and driving classic that can be enjoyed
immediately while improving it along the way.
