Zoom Classic Cars presents this exceptional Two-Owner Survivor 1964
Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special Sedan that is highly optioned with
Original Ebony Lacquer and under 61K original miles! This is a
great opportunity to acquire an exceptionally preserved 1964
Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special Sedan, a true two-owner survivor
that has been cherished by its current owner since 1987.
Remarkably, the car retains its original factory Ebony "Magic
Mirror" acrylic lacquer finish, Original 429CI engine and Automatic
transmission, original interior, original trim, glass, chrome,
badging, and much of its original mechanical equipment. Unlike the
vast majority of 60-plus-year-old Cadillacs, this Sixty Special has
never required a cosmetic restoration and remains an outstanding
example of how these magnificent automobiles looked when they were
new. The car has been garaged and well cared for throughout its
life, with the current owner maintaining it for nearly four
decades. Between 2023 and 2026, the Cadillac was comprehensively
gone through mechanically, bringing the car to an impressive level
of usability while preserving its originality. Documentation for
some of the recent work performed will be included with the car. It
runs beautifully and smoothly and is ready to be enjoyed, shown, or
added to a serious Cadillac collection. Perhaps the most remarkable
aspect of this Cadillac is its original factory Ebony lacquer
paint. The solid black finish remains nearly flawless and presents
with a depth and character that is extremely difficult to duplicate
on a restored automobile. The body is solid and laser-straight
throughout, with no evidence of rust. The original panels retain
excellent fit and finish, and the car has the unmistakable presence
of an untouched, preserved Cadillac. The original chrome, stainless
trim, emblems, and Cadillac badging are all intact and in excellent
condition. Factory Cadillac wheel covers are also well preserved
and are mounted with period-correct whitewall tires and the Factory
Cadillac wheel covers. This is not a freshly restored car made to
look original. It is an original survivor that has simply been
preserved to an extraordinary degree. The interior is equally
impressive. The factory gray cloth and leather upholstery (Trim
Code 61) remains in pristine condition. Particularly noteworthy is
the fact that the front seat is still protected by its original
factory plastic, an extraordinary survivor detail that speaks
volumes about how carefully this Cadillac has been preserved. The
interior retains its beautifully appointed Cadillac wood trim,
complete full gauge cluster, illuminated glove box, and original
fittings throughout. The power windows-including the vent windows
front and rear-are operational and function as they should. The
factory six-way power front seat motor operates but currently needs
attention. The original clock is not functioning; otherwise, the
accessories and equipment operate as they should. According to its
factory information, this Sixty Special was particularly well
equipped when it left Cadillac's Fleetwood assembly facility.
Factory accessory codes include: Soft-Ray tinted glass, Six-way
power front seat, Remote trunk lock release, Power door locks,
Comfort Control Air Conditioning, Factory seat belts, Power
windows, including front and rear vent windows and Automatic
headlight dimming. The factory air conditioning system has been
serviced with new A/C hoses, and the system blows cold. The
Cadillac's original powertrain runs beautifully and delivers the
smooth, effortless driving character expected of a proper Fleetwood
Sixty Special. As part of the extensive recommissioning, the
following work has been completed: new fuel tank, new radiator, new
brake shoes, new brake lines and fittings - June 2026, New brake
booster, the new AC hoses and comprehensive mechanical inspection
and servicing. Documentation for some of the recent work performed
will be included with the sale. Importantly, the original radiator
and original brake shoes have been retained with the car, providing
additional documentation and preservation value for the collector
who wants to maintain the car's originality. The trunk remains
exceptionally well preserved and includes the original spare tire
with its cover and original jack equipment. The Cadillac's factory
identification provides an interesting look into its original

M, K, V.The Fleetwood Sixty Special occupied a special place in
Cadillac's hierarchy. It was not simply a large Cadillac sedan; the
Sixty Special represented Cadillac's more prestigious, individually
styled luxury offering and was traditionally positioned above the
standard Series 62 models. For 1964, Cadillac continued the Sixty
Special's elegant formal character with its long, imposing
proportions, distinctive Fleetwood styling, extensive brightwork,
and richly appointed interior. These cars represented the height of
American luxury before the industry began moving toward smaller,
more standardized luxury automobiles. It is increasingly difficult
to find American luxury cars of this era that have escaped
restoration, repainting, rust repair, modifications, or years of
neglect. An exceptionally preserved original Cadillac such as this
offers something a restored example simply cannot replicate:
authenticity, originality, and provenance. The important
distinction is that this car's value is not based simply on
condition. Its originality is a major part of the story. A
comparable restored Sixty Special may have fresh paint and
upholstery, but it cannot reproduce the significance of an original
Ebony lacquer finish, factory interior, original fittings, and
decades of documented preservation. For the Cadillac enthusiast who
values these attributes, this is exactly the type of car that
deserves serious consideration. The car is stored in MA with clean
title in the owner's name. Note that the owner is also offering
separately a remarkable 1965 Fleetwood, owned since new and showing
only approximately 30,000 original miles. The car is complete.
