Reimel Motor Cars is proud to offer this 1985 Mercedes-Benz 300CD
Turbodiesel, finished in Anthracite Gray Metallic over a Palomino
MB-Tex interior with wood trim. Originally delivered as the selling
dealer's demonstrator, this final-year C123 coupe went on to spend
thirty-five garaged years with its second owner, who added fewer
than 5,000 miles. Showing approximately 92,200 miles today, it
remains a remarkably preserved example of one of Mercedes-Benz's
most enduring designs.
Power comes from the legendary 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-five
diesel paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Factory
equipment includes a power sunroof, power windows, vacuum central
locking, air conditioning, and cruise control. The car has been
tastefully updated with period gold 15-inch BBS wheels stamped Made
in W. Germany, a Klima Design Works automatic climate control
conversion with a new Sanden compressor, and the original Becker
radio, rebuilt by Becker with Bluetooth added.
Under its most recent ownership, the car received a comprehensive
mechanical refresh. The suspension was renewed with Bilstein
shocks, springs, wheel bearings, lower control arms, upper and
lower ball joints, sway bar bushings and links, and front subframe
mounts, along with new engine, transmission, and differential
mounts. The brakes received new lines, calipers, pads, and rotors,
followed by new Yokohama tires and a four-wheel alignment. The
cooling system was refreshed with a Mahle radiator, water pump,
thermostat, hoses, fan clutch, and genuine Mercedes coolant, and
the fuel system received new lines, filters, and tank screen seals.
The glow plugs and relay were replaced, the valves adjusted, and a
new valve cover gasket installed.
The documentation is a time capsule, including the original window
sticker, original invoice, warranty book, stamped dealer service
book with unused service stickers, dealer hang tags, and owner's
manuals. The sale also includes the original Bundt wheels,
Cocomats, spare tire, tool kit, and even the factory Becker tape
head cleaner.
