1969 Pontiac GTO Judge - Ram Air III 400/366 HP, 4-Speed Manual,
PHS Documented
Classic Cars of Sarasota is proud to present this 1969 Pontiac GTO
Judge, an iconic example of the muscle-car era powered by the
desirable 400-cubic-inch Ram Air III V8 producing 366 horsepower
and backed by a 4-speed Hurst manual transmission. Finished in
Orange (Carousel Red) with a White interior, this GTO Judge
combines the aggressive styling, functional performance equipment,
and unmistakable attitude that made the Judge one of the most
celebrated muscle cars of the late 1960s.
Introduced in 1969, the Judge was Pontiac's answer to the growing
market for affordable, high-performance muscle cars. The package
took its name from the popular "Here Comes the Judge" catchphrase
associated with Sammy Davis Jr. and Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In. The
Judge quickly became one of the most recognizable performance
models of the era, distinguished by its bold graphics, rear
spoiler, hood-mounted tachometer, and functional Ram Air
induction.
This GTO is equipped with the Ram Air III 400, rated at 366
horsepower, with functional hood air induction. The Ram Air III
shared the same 400-cubic-inch displacement as the more powerful
Ram Air IV while offering a combination of performance and
drivability that made it one of Pontiac's most desirable
performance engines. The 4-speed manual transmission with Hurst
shifter puts the driver directly in control of the Ram Air III's
power.
Adding to its desirability are PHS documents and a WS-stamped
engine block, providing important documentation and identification
for this GTO. The car is also equipped with a functional hood
tachometer, power steering, and power brakes with front disc and
rear drum brakes. Inside, the White interior features bucket seats,
seat belts, and a working clock.

History
The 1969 model year was a challenging period for American
performance cars as insurance companies increasingly targeted
high-performance vehicles with higher premiums. Pontiac, whose
identity was closely tied to performance, responded with the GTO
Judge, creating one of the most memorable muscle-car packages of
the era.
The first Judges were offered in Carousel Red, giving the model an
immediately recognizable appearance, before Pontiac expanded the
available color choices. The package combined bold Judge decals,
side stripes, a large rear spoiler, functional Ram Air hood
induction, and a performance-focused interior and drivetrain.
For buyers selecting the Ram Air III, Pontiac offered a
366-horsepower 400-cubic-inch V8 with cold-air induction, adding
another level of performance to the GTO platform. The combination
of Ram Air III and a 4-speed manual transmission remains
particularly desirable among GTO enthusiasts.
The 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge has become one of the defining icons of
the golden era of American muscle. With its aggressive Judge
styling, Ram Air III 400 V8, 4-speed Hurst transmission, functional
hood tach, PHS documentation, and WS-stamped block, this GTO offers
the combination of provenance, performance, and visual presence
that collectors and enthusiasts continue to seek.
