This is one of only 669 ’66 Mercury S55 convertibles made. This ain’t your dad’s Mercury Monterey or Marauder. It’s the ultimate survivor classic with only one owner and less than 55k original miles that I purchased about 3 years ago. She’s equipped with a 345HP big block, numbers matching, Super Marauder 428ci mated to a number matching rebuilt C6 automatic transmission (only a few thousand miles on) and bucket seats with center console. Heavy duty numbers matching 9 3/8” rear differential with 2.80 Traction-Lok gears. You won’t see another survivor like it and completely rust free.
It's a beautiful triple white package and the original interior is in amazing condition. Zero cracks in the dash or steering wheel and all the gauges are fully functional except the clock. It has the entire original dealer installed AC system still intact but not functioning. I could go through the AC system and have operational for an additional expense if you desire. The original AM radio works with speakers in the dash and between the rear seats. Power top operates very smoothly as well. The paint has been buffed, polished and hand glazed but does have some bumps and bruises. Debated about having it painted but like the originality of it. Hagerty values a #3 car at $25k-$35k range and #2 is in the $45k-$58k range. This one is priced right for everything that’s been done and the overall condition.
She has a new dual exhaust and sounds right, gas tank, ran new steel fuel lines front to back, rebuilt the carburetor, new fuel pump and filters, radiator, overflow tank, hoses, battery, starter, starter relay, installed new carpet and found the build sheet under the old carpet and in near perfect condition. Clearly no signs of moisture in this bad boy. I also just had a new top installed with a real glass back window and includes the original parade boot which is still in pretty clean condition. I installed new American Racing chrome salt flat wheels sitting on performance Bridgestone 225/50/17 tires. However, It does include the original steel wheels with hub caps in excellent condition and with new white wall tires.
