AMC Rebel "The Machine" in Tricolor, $70,000 USD
This is one of the rarest muscle cars to come out of American Motors. The Rebel “The Machine” was a one year production car from 1970 and this car is one of the first 1,000 to be finished in the red, white and blue Tricolor scheme that makes this car so iconic. It's in great condition,
It's been stored in a climate-controlled shop and regularly maintained. The engine and the manual transmission are both original, and so is everything else with two exceptions. The front seats were reupholstered with original materials but modified to carry the same Tricolor pattern as the center console, additionally, the original fuel system was swapped for electronic fuel injection. This was done for reliability, so the car could be driven daily without any fuss.
Some background on the story of the car: This car was my grandfather's dream. He bought it from an AMC collector in Texas about 15 years ago. To him it was always a special, personal car rather than a financial investment, which is why he made those modifications mentioned above. He passed away five years ago and the car came to me. Since then I've kept up the maintenance and spent many hours detailing it myself. It's been cared for deeply and consistently.
It was imported to Canada without any trouble, so the process should be smooth whether you're a Canadian or American buyer.
I hope to find another muscle car enthusiast who will look after it and enjoy it the way my grandpa would have wanted. Asking $70,000 USD. OBO is selected but only serious inquiries will be considered, and I'm happy to provide maintenance history, documentation, and more details upon request.
