1973 Ford Bronco
For the early Bronco enthusiast, there's nothing quite like the
unmistakable shape, upright stance, and open-air personality of a
first-generation Bronco. Finished in Gunmetal Grey and sitting tall
on 35-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires, this 1973 Ford
Bronco takes that legendary formula and gives it a decidedly more
aggressive attitude. A Rampage soft top and custom vented hood
complete a look that is instantly recognizable to anyone who loves
these iconic trucks.
Under the hood is exactly what many Bronco fanatics want to hear-a
351 Windsor V8. Equipped with a mild cam, Weiand intake, and Holley
carburetor, the Windsor breathes through long-tube headers and a
deep-tone Flowmaster exhaust. A heavy-duty C6 automatic with a
B&M pan sends power to a Ford 9-inch rear end. This Bronco has
been converted to two-wheel drive and retains dual fuel tanks.
The stance is impossible to miss. A 6-inch suspension lift and
2-inch body lift put those 35-inch KO2s exactly where they belong,
while Bilstein shocks, aftermarket steering stabilizers, new
chassis bushings, and custom traction bars round out the upgraded
chassis.
Inside, this Bronco trades the ordinary for a much more purposeful
cockpit. C5 Rocker bucket seats and harnesses sit within a full
roll cage, while the rear-seat delete provides additional cargo
room. A custom center console, push-button start, toggle-switch
panel, and matched speedometer and tachometer add to its custom
character.
Newport Engineering wipers, HID headlights, classic KC fog lights,
and LED interior lighting finish off a build that still keeps the
personality of an early Bronco front and center.
If you're an early Bronco fanatic, you already know why these
trucks get under your skin. It's the short wheelbase, the upright
windshield, the open-air cabin, and that unmistakable profile that
looks good from every angle. Fire up the 351, listen to that
Windsor settle into its cammed V8 rhythm, and head out with the
soft top open. This '73 has the stance, sound, and old-school
Bronco attitude that can make you look back at it every time you
walk away.
