was the first generation of the famed marque that really took the
fight to the European manufacturers, putting the Corvette on the
map as a road and race car. Including technology like an
independent rear suspension and optional fuel injection, it was
also far more advanced than many of the much more expensive cars
coming out of Europe, but was available to the masses. This 1965
Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is one of the ultra-desirable fuel
injected models, and from the final year it was offered in the C2
generation. Finished in Milano Maroon, this car is one of just 771
fuel injected models produced in 1965 and was the recipient of
considerable mechanical reconditioning in recent years. The Milano
Maroon exterior is paired with a black soft top, and the car sits
on a set of "Turbine" style wheels with knock-off centers. The
interior is finished in black leather, with the classic
dual-cockpit interior, having a distinct pod for the gauges in
front of the driver, and a matching pod with a glove box in front
of the passenger. From the factory, this car was equipped with the
sought after N32 Teakwood steering wheel, along with the mono AM/FM
radio, which was manufactured for the 1965 Corvette by Custom
Autosound Manufacturing. Under the hood sits a 327ci V8 with the
famed Rochester fuel injection system. This mechanical injection
system brought the 327's power to an astonishing 375 hp - a truly
remarkable power to cubic inch ratio in the era. The fuel injection
system was rebuilt by Jack Podell in May of 2025 and the engine was
rebuilt in march of 2026 to factory L84 specification. Both the
engine and 4-speed manual transmission are said to be numbers
matching, and paired with a Positraction limited slip differential
at the rear. The fuel injected C2 Corvette is one of the most
sought after variants of the C2, and is an absolute blast to drive
too. This is a stunning example that presents fantastically well
visually and runs and drives even better! *Additional Information*
