This 1957 Chevrolet 210 is a beautifully restored and tastefully
upgraded example of one of the most recognizable designs of the
1950s. Finished in a striking Hawaiian Orchid metallic, the deep
purple finish gives the car a distinctive presence while retaining
the unmistakable lines and extensive brightwork of the iconic '57
Chevrolet. The car underwent a frame-off restoration in the
mid-2000s and has since received a number of mechanical and comfort
upgrades aimed at making it an enjoyable cruiser.
Under the hood is a rebuilt 350ci Chevrolet V8 producing
approximately 300 horsepower. Power is sent through a Turbo 350
automatic transmission to a 3.55 rear end, providing a proven and
straightforward drivetrain combination well suited to cruising. The
car is also equipped with power steering and power brakes, along
with front disc brakes for improved stopping performance.
Comfort was not overlooked during the build. A Vintage Air
air-conditioning system has been installed, along with a
comfortable cloth interior featuring Chevrolet-logo detailing and
seat belts. A B&M floor shifter adds a performance-oriented
touch to the cabin while retaining the classic dashboard and much
of the character of the original interior.
The exterior is complemented by Boyd Coddington chrome wheels that
give the 210 a clean restomod stance without overwhelming its
classic styling. Additional details include MagnaFlow mufflers
terminating in distinctive "Bowtie" exhaust tips. A third brake
light has also been incorporated for added visibility, while the
trunk includes a storage compartment with a drop-down door.
During the current owner's more than three years of ownership, the
Chevrolet has received numerous mechanical updates and maintenance
items. These include a new master brake cylinder, water pump and
radiator, timing chain and cover, shocks, idler arm and ball
joints, rear wheel cylinders, oil pan gasket, high-torque starter
with heat wrap, PerTronix distributor, and window tint.
Combining the timeless appearance of a 1957 Chevrolet with
small-block V8 power, an automatic transmission, air conditioning,
power steering, upgraded brakes, and a memorable Hawaiian Orchid
finish, this 210 offers the character of a Tri-Five Chevy with the
usability and comfort of a thoughtfully updated cruiser.
