1933 Ford Vicky This remarkable custom was the result of a six-year
comprehensive build, where no detail was overlooked and no shortcut
was taken. From its beautifully sculpted Down's fiberglass body to
its hand-crafted metalwork and award-winning finish. The Down's
body features a 3-inch chop and suicide doors, giving the car an
unmistakable stance and presence. The hand-crafted metal hood and
engine side panels add another level of custom fabrication, while
clever details are found throughout the car. Even the door locks
serve double duty as the handlessimply push down and the doors
open. Under the hood sits a fuel-injected GM Performance 572
cubic-inch V-8, producing an impressive 621 horsepower and 649
lb-ft of torque. The engine is finished with custom-built
carbon-fiber valve covers and is backed by a 700R4 4-speed
automatic transmission and polished aluminum driveshaft. The
attention to detail continues underneath. A chromed Heidts Super
Ride rear suspension, rack-and-pinion steering, and polished Billet
Specialties SLG wheels give both the stance and engineering
expected of a serious custom. The 17-inch front and 18-inch rear
wheels are wrapped in Toyo tires. But perhaps one of the most
memorable touches is saved for the show field. With the push of a
button, the license plate electronically retracts, revealing the
beautifully finished suspension underneath. It's the kind of detail
that tells you this car wasn't simply assembledit was engineered to
be appreciated from every angle. That level of craftsmanship did
not go unnoticed. This car earned Great 8 honors at the Detroit
Autorama, placing it among the standout customs at one of the
country's most recognized custom car events. The new owner will
receive a custom car cover, an extra key, and two binders filled
with build documentation and receipts, providing a detailed history
of the work that went into this six-year project. Among the
documentation is a $39,000 paint bill, giving just one indication
of the level of investment and attention that went into the
finished product. Six years in the making. Great 8 recognized.
