Reimel Motor Cars is pleased to present this 1930 Ford Model A
Closed-Cab Pickup. It is finished in Flax, a cream-yellow, with
black fenders, tan-painted wire wheels and a black interior.
THE MODEL A PICKUP
Ford introduced the Model A in late 1927 as the successor to the
Model T. It was a big step forward, with a more powerful
four-cylinder engine, a conventional 3-speed sliding-gear
transmission, four-wheel mechanical brakes and a safety-glass
windshield. Ford built nearly five million Model As from 1927 to
1931. The pickup versions were the hard-working members of the
family, used on farms and by small businesses across the country.
Today they are some of the most usable and best-supported pre-war
vehicles in the hobby, with a strong club network and excellent
parts availability.
EXTERIOR
The body is painted in Flax (the service file references Martin
Senour touch-up paint 90T-5620) with contrasting black fenders,
running boards and splash aprons. Bright details include the
radiator shell, Motometer-style radiator cap, headlight buckets,
cowl lamps, front bumper and dual outside mirrors. The wire wheels
are painted tan to match the body and were refinished in 2017. The
pickup bed has wood side boards and a wood floor with steel skid
strips.
INTERIOR
The closed cab has a black bench seat with matching black door
panels, a black steering wheel and a Model A-style instrument
panel. Later additions include seat belts, a dash lamp, a firewall
insulator pad, turn signals and a battery disconnect switch.
DRIVETRAIN AND CHASSIS
Power comes from Ford's 201 ci (3.3L) L-head inline-four, rated at
40 hp at 2,200 rpm. It is paired with a 3-speed manual transmission
and rear-wheel drive. The chassis uses transverse leaf springs
front and rear with Houdaille-type hydraulic shocks and four-wheel
mechanical drum brakes. The electrical system is 6-volt.

2020. Together they document more than $29,000 of work. Highlights
