The C5 generation marked one of the biggest leaps forward in
Corvette history, and this 1999 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe is a
well-preserved, low-mileage example showing only 31,174 original
miles. Finished in classic Torch Red over a Black leather interior,
it combines strong LS1 performance, extensive factory equipment,
desirable options, and an impressive collection of original
documentation.
Power comes from Chevrolet's 5.7-liter LS1 V8, factory rated at 345
horsepower and equipped with electronic fuel injection. It is
paired with a 4L60-E four-speed automatic transmission with
overdrive, making the car equally comfortable around town or on
longer highway drives. The factory performance axle ratio and
limited-slip differential help put the power to the pavement, while
rear-wheel drive and the C5's balanced chassis deliver the
responsive road manners that made this generation such an important
step forward for the Corvette.
This example is also equipped with Continuously Variable Real-Time
Damping, allowing the suspension to adapt to changing road
conditions. Four-wheel independent suspension, Active Handling,
traction control, power steering, and four-wheel power disc brakes
with ABS give the car a confident, composed feel. Staggered 17-inch
front and 18-inch rear aluminum wheels wear Michelin Total
Performance tires sized 245/45ZR17 up front and 275/40ZR18 in the
rear.
The Torch Red exterior presents with the unmistakable low, wide
stance of the C5 and is complemented by tasteful hand-painted
pinstriping, which can be seen in the accompanying photographs. A
transparent removable roof panel allows for open-air driving while
preserving the practicality and security of a coupe. The car also
features Twilight Sentinel automatic headlamps, fog lamps, power
heated outside mirrors, and a rear window defogger. An upgraded
muffler gives the LS1 a slightly more aggressive tone through the
dual exhaust.
Inside, the Black leather cabin is loaded with comfort and
convenience features. Adjustable sport bucket seats include a power
driver seat and six-way power passenger seat, while the Driver
Memory Package allows preferred settings to be retained. A power
telescoping and manually tilting steering column, leather-wrapped
steering wheel, cruise control, power windows, power locks, remote
keyless entry, and electronic dual-zone air conditioning make this
Corvette especially comfortable to drive.
One of the standout options is the Head-Up Display, projecting
important driving information directly into the driver's line of
sight. Analog instrumentation with the Driver Information Center
provides additional vehicle data, while the Bose audio system
includes an AM/FM stereo, cassette player, and remote compact disc
changer. An upgraded OnStar rearview mirror has also been
installed.
Practical touches include a rear-compartment luggage shade and
parcel net, color-keyed carpeted floor mats, and a car cover that
is included with the sale. The transparent roof panel adds another
layer of versatility, making it easy to enjoy open-air cruising
without giving up the clean lines of the coupe body.
Documentation is another major strength of this Corvette. The
original window sticker is included and shows an original MSRP of
$45,260. Also included are the original sales brochure and owner's
manuals. The car was originally delivered to Goldens #1 Chevrolet
in Reading, Pennsylvania, giving it a documented starting point to
its ownership history. A clean CARFAX further complements the low
mileage and well-kept presentation.
With only 31,174 original miles, classic Torch Red paint, Black
leather, LS1 V8 power, desirable suspension and comfort options,
original documentation, and a clean CARFAX, this 1999 Chevrolet
Corvette Coupe is a strong example of an increasingly appreciated
generation. It is a well-documented C5 that is ready for weekend
drives, local shows, and continued enjoyment by its next owner.
