Cruisin Classics is pleased to present this 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air
4-door. Have you always wanted a classic Tri-Five Chevy to cruise
around town but didn't want to spend a fortune on one that feels
too nice to drive? Well, then this is the car for you! This '57 is
a driver-quality four door model that has the style and looks
you're hunting for, but without the sky-high price tag. This Chevy
comes to us dressed in a driver-quality respray in it's original
colors - a Tropical Turquoise body with an India Ivory top - a
fantastic color combo. Bel Airs are known for their copious amounts
of stylish chrome and this car has that look. The brightwork does
vary in quality from piece to piece though. Some pieces are nice
and bright while others are dull and some others are heavily pitted
- but they are all there. The hood rockets, large wrap-around
bumpers, dagmars with pasties, window rain deflectors, and the
iconic flared side trim and fins all join together to satisfy your
nostalgic desire. This Bel Air cruises down the road on a set of
steel wheels with Chevy hubcaps and Hankook Kinergy ST tires.
Under the hood is a very original-looking engine bay. At the center
is a 235ci Blue Flame inline 6-cylinder engine that is likely
original to the car. The blue block is topped off with a blue
"Chevrolet" valve cover. The carburetor is a single barrel
Rochester and it's connected to a black oil-bath air cleaner.
Steering is manual and the four-wheel drum brakes are manual as
well. The 6-cylinder is mated up to a 3-speed manual transmission
that sends power to the rear wheels. We did notice while under the
hood that there is a new fuel regulator, a new fuel filter, and new
upper control arms. Under the rear of the car you'll also find a
new gas tank. Out on the road, this Bel Air drives and handles just
as it should and it collects thumbs-up's wherever you go.
Open the drivers door to find an appealing white and turquoise
interior. The door panels, bench seats, and rear package tray are
all dressed in pleated white vinyl in good condition. Underfoot is
older turquoise loop carpet topped with black rubber Chevy
floormats and overhead is a tight white perforated vinyl headliner.
Ahead of the driver is a large turquoise steering wheel with a
working chrome horn ring. On the column is the shifter fot the
3-speed manual transmission - affectionately known as a
"three-on-the-tree". Beyond the wheel is a turquoise steel dash
with cool '50's charm. The steering wheel frames a 120mph
speedometer that is flanked by gauges for fuel (inop.) and temp.
Below the gauges is an ornamental stamped metal band that stretches
from one side of the dash to the other and contains switches for
lights and the working 2-speed wipers, ignition, a radio-delete
cover plate, and a clock (inop.). Beneath the band there is a fan
pull switch that operates a slow-moving underdash fan, but there is
no heat. Also below the band is an empty glovebox. Around back in
the trunk you'll find a black rubber mat, a full spare & jack, and
a car cover.
This affordable 1957 Chevy Bel Air is turn-key ready to hit the
road today and it also has potential for future upgrades or
restoration. This is your chance to enjoy all of that cool '50's
nostalgia at a price that won't break the bank! Give our friendly
staff a call today and make this Turquoise '57 your own!
