INTRODUCTION: I'm telling you, this is one of the exceptional cars.
The next owner is absolutely going to be pleased with the fit,
finish, and function. And it's got such a cool theme- a post coupe
Chevelle with that old school performance attitude!
EXTERIOR: The body on this Chevelle is incredibly impressive. From
the rockers all the way to the roof, every inch of it is laser
straight. I don't see a bubble, a pimple, or a crack anywhere. The
gaps are precise and the doors click shut beautifully. It's been
repainted in Madeira Maroon, and the finish is literally like
glass- far better than when it left the factory. The glass is
crystal clear; I initially thought it was all new, but much of it
appears to retain its original markings, while the windshield has
been replaced. All the stainless trim has been polished, the chrome
sparkles, and the weatherstrips have been replaced. It sits strong
and period correct on new 15-inch Cragar wheels wrapped in radial
tires, with some extra meat in the back giving it just the right
stance.
INTERIOR: The interior is spotless, simple, and beautifully
restored. Fresh red carpet fits perfectly and is complemented by
matching floor mats. Sticking out of the transmission hump is a
Hurst four-speed shifter with the classic T-handle. The entire dash
area has a clean, stock appearance with a new dash pad and nicely
painted trim. It's a radio delete setup, keeping with the no frills
muscle car theme. A hot rod style Sun Super Tach is mounted to the
steering column, while Stewart Warner oil pressure and water
temperature gauges are neatly mounted below the dash. The seats
were rebuilt with nice, firm cushions and reupholstered with
smooth, wrinkle free reproduction upholstery. The door panels,
armrests, window cranks, and handles are all new. Overhead, the
headliner is new and stretched tight without a wrinkle, along with
matching visors and a new mirror. The steering wheel has been
restored, and the dome light works. Even the owner's manual is
tucked away in the glove box.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: First thing I noticed when I opened the hood is
just how immaculate this engine compartment is. It's been
meticulously assembled and detailed throughout. Although it's
disguised to look like a 396, it's actually packing a performance
built 454 with an Edelbrock intake, dual-feed Holley carburetor
with electric choke, and a set of coated headers. It's dressed in
new reproduction valve covers and air cleaner, keeping the factory
appearance. It has a restored radiator complete with the proper
shroud and an aluminum GM water pump to help keep it running cool.
All the components- the alternator, wiper motor, wiring, horns, and
more all look fresh. It's also upgraded with a dual reservoir
master cylinder for added safety. Reproduction hoses and clamps,
spring clamp battery cables, and a Delco battery topper add to the
authentic appearance. All the metal surfaces are smooth and painted
very nicely. Overall, it's exceptionally clean, detailed, and very
well presented.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The trunk compartment is also immaculate. I
swear, the paint in the jamb and under the trunk lid looks like it
was wet sanded and buffed- it's that slick. The weatherstrip has
been replaced, along with the reproduction trunk mat. Inside, it's
pristine metal with a neatly applied spatter finish. It even has a
completely restored jack and spare assembly, including a
reproduction wide oval tire.
UNDERSIDE: What really amazes me underneath this Chevelle is the
metal. The frame, floors, and chassis components are some of the
smoothest, driest, cleanest metal I've seen- there isn't even a pit
or a speck of rust. Everything has a neatly applied satin black
finish. The steering and suspension were completely rebuilt,
including front and rear sway bars, upgraded rear control arms, and
airbags in the rear springs. The brake system was completely redone
and upgraded with front disc brakes, along with replaced lines and
e-brake cables. The fuel system was replaced, including the tank.
It has a custom dual exhaust with dumps, while the tailpipes are
tucked up neatly with turned down tips. Looking up at the motor,
it's clean Chevy orange with a fresh looking starter and a heavy
duty scatter shield. The Muncie 4-speed sends power through a
rebuilt driveshaft to a 12-bolt rear end packed with tire burning
4.56 posi gears. This is an exceptionally clean, properly restored
underside.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and our reputation. Every
vehicle goes through our service department where it is inspected,
test driven, and we address the essentials before offering it for
sale.
CONCLUSION: Go ahead, shop around, look at other cars in person.
It's only going to make you appreciate this one even more. The fit,
finish, and function are incredibly nice. The next owner will be
very pleased!
