INTRODUCTION: I have for sale a 1981 308 GTBi Ferrari in the famous Rosso Corsa red color with the sought after black interior. Hard top and soft top both included. From my research only 494 were built in 1981 who knows how many still exist. Rare for appreciation and incredible to drive. Meticulously maintained and in excellent condition. Very low milage, all original and everything works exactly like it should. Mid engine 2.8 liter V-8 Bosch fuel injected, the first year for fuel injection, sporting 230 HP and a 5 speed gated shifter. Just tuned by Ferrari specialists. Starts instantly and runs perfect.
EXTERIOR: This 308 GTBi in Ferrari red has had a ceramic coating applied for a beautiful, no wax finish. The windshield is exceptionally clear, and the pictures show the car with 2003 Ferrari 360 Modena wheels because I thought it looked cool. The four original rims are also included.
INTERIOR: This beauty has new floor mats, billet pedals and new switches. The original leather seats have firm cushions, no significant wear, although the leather does show aging. The drivers seat is starting to show a seam pulling apart. I also have a brand new set of seat covers they just need installed.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine was just serviced and tuned. It sports a new battery, battery shot off for storage, new air compressor, coolant hoses, coolant and smog pump, new distributor and spark plugs, new air injection pump new belts, bearings and water pump with thermostat. New clutch seal and adjustment. It comes well equipped with the original jack in its leather bag, Ferrari original tool kit, owner's manuals, and California car cover with storage bag.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The front compartment is clean and houses the radiator with dual electric cooling fans and a new oil cooler Also included is a fifth matching original Ferrari wheel wearing its original Michelin tire.
UNDERSIDE: It rides on a tubular steel chassis with four wheel independent suspension, using unequal length upper and lower control arms, coil springs, hydraulic shocks, and anti-sway bars both front and rear. Four wheel ventilated disc brakes are fairly new with control arm bushings, adjustable front coil over shocks with new control arm bushings. Steering is a direct, unassisted rack-and-pinion system. The 308 incorporates a limited slip differential, with power delivered to the rear wheels through CV-jointed axle shafts.
SERVICE and DOCUMENTATION: A clear Carfax report is available. A notebook of all receipts going back to the year 2000. The vehicle has GPS installed and a remote auto shut off. If the car is started or moved you will know it. Accurate to nine feet. Pretty cool. I have over a hundred photos and videos of it starting and running. The car was just tuned and aligned.
