This 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS is an absolutely incredible custom
build that has been finished to an exceptionally high level from
top to bottom. The body is laser straight, the Silver Metallic
paint looks fantastic, and the attention to detail continues
through the engine bay, interior, chassis and trunk.
Under the hood is a fuel-injected Ram Jet 454ci big block backed by
a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission, giving this Chevelle the
combination of big-block power and modern drivability. Power
steering, 4-wheel power disc brakes and a complete RideTech air
suspension system make it much more than just a showpiece.
The Paul Atkins interior is one of the highlights of the entire
build. Nearly everything was custom fabricated or upholstered, from
the modified power bucket seats and one-off dashboard to the center
console, door panels and finished trunk. The Saddle leather is a
beautiful contrast against the Silver Metallic exterior and gives
the car a high-end, completely custom appearance.
The underside is just as impressive, with a highly detailed
chassis, tubular suspension components, 4-link rear suspension and
custom 9-inch rear end. The staggered Foose wheels give it the
perfect stance and complete the look.
This is the kind of Chevelle that would be extremely difficult-and
incredibly expensive-to duplicate today. The quality, craftsmanship
and attention to detail are apparent everywhere you look. Pictures
simply don't do this car justice. It is truly impressive in person
and is easily one of the highest-quality custom Chevelles we have
had at Coyote Classics.
