The break through year of the iconic Tri-Five Chevy arrived in 1955
and was famously marketed as "The Hot One". It helped Chevrolet
abandon its conservative image and cement themselves in classic car
history. They had multiple trim levels with the Nomad being
introduced as the "halo car" for Chevrolet, meaning they were a low
production model with all the bells and whistles which was intended
to draw people to the Chevrolet line. The nameplate was originally
applied to a concept car in 1954 that actually resembled more a
Corvette wagon than a Bel Air one. The Nomad has since become one
of the most highly collectable tri-five cars on the market and of
all body styles the most collectable throughout time has continued
to be the Nomad and Convertibles. This beautiful 1955 Nomad Wagon
is a real deal code "VC" V8 Nomad car that has been entirely redone
in a custom restomod pro touring style. There are 1,705 miles on
the odometer so it is a fresh build that still looks just
completed. It is an extremely well done car that is painted in a
gorgeous Black Cherry pearl that has a brilliant shine and can
transform to a darker Black appearance outside of the sun. It is a
very unique color that is truly eye catching wherever it goes. The
chrome smoothy bumpers have a mirror like finish and are cleanly
mounted in place. It also has a custom '54 Corvette grill which is
a subtle but perfect modification. All of the stock style stainless
trim is in place including the Nomad tailgate bars. The glass is in
great condition throughout and is all tinted. The car has an
excellent stance and rides on custom wheels with Nitto low profile
tires.
Incorporating some modern Chevrolet performance is a Ccorvette LS3
that runs extremely well and offers all the power you could need.
It is very cleanly laid out under the hood with a polished Spectre
Performance cold air intake, chrome radiator support, aftermarket
PRE Racing aluminum radiator (with electric fans), chrome AC
compressor, and polished condenser. The car sounds very healthy
through the custom dual exhaust that dumps out below the rear. The
suspension, in both front and rear, are out of a C4 Corvette and it
has disc brakes under all four corners. The transmission is a 4L60E
automatic so every aspect of modern Corvette drivability has been
packed into this very cool 50s classic. In addition to AC it also
has luxuries like power steering and power brakes which make it
drive wonderfully.
The interior is done in a beautiful deep Oxblood Red leather to
match the exterior and is in excellent condition. The power
adjustable bucket seats feature White stitching and are very
comfortable. The door panels, rear bench, carpet, and headliner
with stainless bars all look great. Between the bucket seats is a
custom center console done in a two tone. It has additional
storage, cupholders, a Lokar shifter, and chrome adjustable vents.
The dash is all very nicely painted and features a combination of
stock Chevy bowtie trim with aftermarket gauges. The tilt steering
column is painted to match and topped with a 3 spoke Grant
woodgrain steering wheel. Another nice feature includes the
aftermarket power window system. Open the rear hatch and the area
behind the rear seat offers plenty of storage space and is all very
cleanly carpeted.
This is such a nice example of a '55 Nomad and the modifications
were very tastefully done. It is show ready and is set up to
drive/perform extremely well wherever you take it. These are highly
collectable and a staple in any collection.
This beautiful car could be in your collection for $105,000.00!
