?Overview
This 1980 Land Rover Series III is an open-top, 88-inch wheelbase
utility model that was converted from right-hand drive to left-hand
drive under previous ownership. Power is provided by a brand-new
2.25-liter inline-four petrol engine mated to a brand-new
four-speed fully synchromesh manual transmission and a dual-range
transfer case. Both the engine and gearbox were installed just 100
miles ago.
Finished in green showing an authentic, beautifully aged original
paint patina. Features include a fold-down front windscreen, front
wing checker-plate protection, and a hood-mounted spare tire. The
interior features completely refreshed deluxe high-back black vinyl
seating. The chassis has been fitted with an Old Man Emu suspension
kit, and the undercarriage presents in a surgically clean,
rust-free condition. This Series III open-top utility is now

?Exterior & Chassis
The aluminum Birmabright body panels retain their green factory
finish, displaying a rich, authentic patina. Exterior elements
include late-Series wing-mounted headlights, a classic
silver-finished front grille with an integrated wire mesh insert,
dual side mirrors, dual front tow rings, and silver aluminum
checker plate cladding on the front wing tops and lower rocker
panel trim. The truck is configured as an open utility cab
featuring a split fold-down front windshield system.
The vehicle rides on cream-painted factory-spec steel wheels
wrapped in rugged terrain tires, with a matching spare assembly
secured to the bonnet. Braking is handled by hydraulic drums. An
upgraded Old Man Emu (OME) suspension package has been installed,
featuring yellow heavy-duty shock absorbers, updated leaf springs,

?Interior
The cabin has been completely renewed and features a deluxe
three-across front seating arrangement upholstered in fresh black
vinyl. The outboard driver and passenger spots feature high-back
seats with integrated three-point shoulder belts, split by a
matching low-back center seat. The late-Series safety-molded black
dashboard houses a centralized instrument cluster including a
90-mph speedometer along with auxiliary gauges for fuel level and
coolant temperature. Additional appointments include manual crank
windows, factory ventilation controls, a floor-mounted main
shifter, four-wheel-drive engagement levers, and clean, freshly
finished green floor wells.
?Drivetrain & Performance
The replacement 2.25-liter petrol inline-four features a
factory-upgraded five-main-bearing crankshaft for enhanced rigidity
and reliability. The engine was completely replaced 100 miles ago
and has been modified with an aluminum Pierce intake manifold along
with an aftermarket high-flow air cleaner. A clean glass inline
fuel filter, clean wiring runs, and a red-painted valve cover
highlight the detailed engine bay. Power is sent to the rear or all
four wheels through a brand-new four-speed manual
transmission featuring full synchromesh across all forward gears,
paired with a reinforced late-Series rear axle assembly.
