This 1967 Pontiac GTO combines one of the most recognizable designs
of the muscle car era with a number of performance and drivability
upgrades. Finished in silver with a contrasting black vinyl roof,
the car has the unmistakable stacked headlights, split grille, hood
scoop, and muscular body lines that made the GTO an icon. Chrome
American Racing Torq Thrust wheels complete the exterior with a
classic period-inspired appearance.
Under the hood is a high output, numbers matching, 400ci Pontiac V8
that has been gone through and rebuilt as necessary. A standout
feature is the Tri-Power induction setup sourced from a 1965 GTO,
utilizing three two-barrel carburetors that have been
professionally tuned. The 400 is paired with an automatic
transmission featuring a 2,400-rpm stall converter and a Hurst His
& Hers dual-gate shifter. Power is sent to a Positraction rear end.
Additional mechanical upgrades include a custom radiator, new
exhaust system, and new suspension components.
Stopping and steering have also been improved for more enjoyable
road manners. The GTO is equipped with power steering and power
brakes, along with upgraded aftermarket front disc brakes. The
combination of the refreshed suspension, front discs, and modern
performance-oriented additions gives this classic Pontiac a more
confident feel while retaining its traditional muscle-car
character.
Inside, the black interior presents in classic GTO fashion with
front bucket seats, a full center console, woodgrain trim, and the
desirable Hurst His & Hers shifter. The dashboard has been custom
painted, while a new headliner and new interior wiring are among
the more recent updates. Auxiliary gauges mounted beneath the dash
provide additional monitoring of the car's mechanical systems. The
heater is also reported to be functioning.
The 1967 model year represents the final evolution of the original
GTO body style before Pontiac's major redesign for 1968. With its
400ci Pontiac power, vintage Tri-Power setup, Positraction rear
end, Hurst shifter, upgraded brakes and suspension, and sharp
silver-over-black presentation, this GTO offers a compelling
combination of classic Pontiac styling and thoughtfully selected
performance upgrades.
