"In 1971, Dwight Bond opened a small restoration shop in Gibbon, Nebraska where he restored Ford Model As and Ts. In 1985, Bond started Second Chance Classics, which began building components and turnkey versions of the 1933 Packards. Exterior
This faithful tribute uses a faithful paint known as Packard Blue, a deep, rich blue fitting for an automotive masterpiece and its replicas. A tan pinstripe complements not only the long bodied car, but the retractable canvas top and trunk cover on the rear luggage rack. The elegant and elongated front each share a carefully encased spare that leaves exposed the chrome wires and red center cap, sharing the profile with the grounded 16-inch units wrapped in wide white wall tires. Those fenders flow into wide running boards and a relatively short tail broadened by arching fenders. Up front, the car announces its presence with a bundle of chrome and stainless steel, capped off by the most famous Packard ornament, the pelican. Beauty is found in the symmetrical display of the headlights, horns and large fog lights. Imperfections include some scuffs, inclusions, chipped paint, a stain and tear in the top, various scratches, and some bubbling.

Interior
Khaki leather is topped by a honey colored oak header on the door panels with matching wood door sill below and all present cleanly. Chesterfield type tufting adorns the leather bench seat and the rumble seat and both are in beautiful condition. Wood dominates the front too, beginning on the four spoke steering wheel and continuing on the dash top and instrument faceplates. Ivory colored Classic Industries gauges fill the center panel and trimmed in stainless. Tan carpet covers the floor and wraps the lower steering column in fine fashion.

Drivetrain
Behind the engine covers you'll find a 350ci V8 with chrome valve covers and a 4-barrel carburetor. Behind it is a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission with power being routed to a Ford 9" rear. The car has power steering, power brakes and air conditioning, and is running on a 12 volt system.

Undercarriage
Generally clean and dry underneath where you'll find dual exhaust running through stainless steel mufflers and terminating through straight polished tips out back. Power brakes are on board as front disc and rear drum and suspension consists of torsion bars in front and leaf springs in back.

Drive-Ability
Since we've driven a few real ones, we can say that this replica provides an enjoyable riding experience with decent power under the hood, an incredibly comfortable and well appointed interior, straight tracking, and solid braking. No complaints here as the pelican topped stately ride makes it way around the test loop proving that all functions work as intended.
