For Sale: 1969 Chevrolet Corvair Monza in Hastings, Nebraska

CONSIGNMENT: 1969 was the last year for the Corvair and this is vehicle #2980 out of 6000 made for the year:  

• 1 of 521 convertibles
• 1 of 16 Dover white convertibles 
• 1 of 31 known 140hp powerglide convertibles 
• 1969 Corvair registry can be found at the CORSA website www.corvair.org 

• Tinted glass, factory auxiliary lights, clock, heavy duty suspension, remote mirror, quick steering, rear speaker, telescoping steering column, power top and factory vanity mirror.  Correct 1969 wire wheel covers, bumper guards, and the dealer installed luggage rack.   Original purchase date 1-15-1969. Listed for $3316.35 new.  Purchased by a dealer in Kansas for his own collection, the car was gently used with just over 43k original miles.   
•      In 2020, PO sent the car to restoration expert Michael LeVeque of LeVair Performance and Restoration.  Car was media blasted to bare metal, repaired, and repainted.   Drive train was removed and gone through, the heads were built with deep seats.   The engine sheet metal was powder coated and the correct smog control parts were installed back onto the car.  All suspension components have new bushings.  Extensive work was done including wheel bearings, brake components, even the doors removed had everything cleaned and lubricated.  Dash was removed, new bulbs and a new, NOS clock installed
•     The owner's goal was to have a show car completely correct to the build sheet to enter concours competition.  Car was finished in 2022.   The owner passed in 2022, his heir stated about 100 miles was put on the car from 2022 to 2026.
•     The car shifts and drives great with plenty of get up and GO!  Everything works, including the AM radio, with the exception of the factory clock.  The car is quiet and smooth, no rattles or shakes.  The top was new when it was restored and the power mechanism works smoothly.  The boot snaps on securely, the interior and seats are all in good shape.   The dash has some cracks, see photos.  Someone screwed something into the dash.   A period correct compass covers the hole.
• 2026:  brand new, correct size whitewall tires. All 4 carburetors were rebuilt.   Electric fuel pump, with block installed in the manual fuel pump so the engine compartment shows correctly.    The paint was buffed out and the car detailed.  The smog system was removed and will be available.  As a driver, the car is too difficult to do minor adjustments with the smog system in place. 
• This Monza fills the bill for driving enthusiasts and those looking for more than the usual options.
