1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS - 502 Big Block - 4-Speed - Loaded with
UpgradesThis 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is a beautifully finished,
serious muscle car with the looks, sound, and performance you want
from a big-block Chevelle. Finished in red with black racing
stripes, it has an aggressive stance complemented by the SS-style
cowl-induction hood, hood pins, classic wheels, and BFGoodrich
Radial T/A tires. The paint presents beautifully, while the chrome,
trim, glass, and weatherstripping all show very well.Under the hood
is where this Chevelle really stands apart. Power comes from a
built 502 cubic-inch big-block V8, based on a 1973 454 casting,
with the crank internally balanced as part of the build. The engine
features aluminum heads, an Edelbrock aluminum intake, Holley 850
CFM double-pumper carburetor, headers, upgraded MSD HEI ignition
with new plugs and wires, and an upgraded valvetrain with adjusted
roller rockers. The intake was recently resealed, the valve-cover
gaskets replaced, and the header gaskets have also been
replaced.Backing the big block is a Muncie M20 4-speed manual
transmission with a new clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing,
fork, and related components, operated through a classic
floor-mounted shifter. The combination gives this Chevelle the raw,
old-school driving experience these cars are known for.A
considerable amount of mechanical work has been performed
throughout the car. The front braking system has been refreshed
with new calipers, rotors, bearings, hoses, and master cylinder. It
is equipped with power disc brakes and power steering, along with
new rear upper and lower control arms. The steering system has also
been upgraded with a Flaming River tilt steering column, Flaming
River steering box/quick-ratio setup, new steering universal joint,
and new Flaming River steering wheel and horn kit.Additional recent
work includes a new alternator belt, attention to the
air-conditioning system with the belt changed and system checked,
and other servicing performed to make this Chevelle a
strong-running and enjoyable driver.Inside, you'll find a sharp
black SS-style interior with bucket seats, seatbelts, factory-style
gauges, and the unmistakable feel of a classic 4-speed muscle car.
From the carpeting to the headliner, the interior presents
extremely well and complements the exterior perfectly. The trunk and
undercarriage are both clean and solid, and the suspension,
steering, braking, drivetrain, and engine upgrades make this much
more than just a good-looking Chevelle. It runs, drives, shifts,
and stops extremely well and is ready to be enjoyed. This is the
kind of Chevelle that checks the boxes: 502 big-block power, Muncie
4-speed, Holley 850 double pumper, aluminum heads, MSD ignition,
upgraded suspension and steering, power disc brakes, and a gorgeous
red-and-black appearance.MGM Classic Cars offers great financing
