INTRODUCTION: This hot looking Nova has received a body off frame
restoration and delivers the complete package- great looks, strong
performance, and the comfort and drivability that make it an all
around great hobby car.
EXTERIOR: Here's an elevated grocery getter! Bright red, cowl hood
and Yenko striping- this certainly isn't Grandma's Nova. The body
was off the frame during restoration. The panels are straight with
no rust or damage, and the bright red paint has been polished
smooth and glossy. Proper Yenko-style striping runs across the hood
and down the sides, giving it a tough look. The glass is tinted and
the windshield was replaced. The stainless moldings and mirrors
were replaced, and the grille looks new. The bumpers are in good
shape but are not new. Out back it has the SS tail panel, and the
weatherstrips were replaced as well. It's rolling on 17" billet SS
wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich tires.
INTERIOR: Sitting inside this car is pretty darn nice! It has new
contoured sport bucket seats with a matching rear seat. The side
panels and armrests are new reproductions. Fresh looking carpet is
on the floor, while an Alcantara style headliner and visors dress
things up overhead. There are three point shoulder belts for the
front passengers. The dash pad was reupholstered, the instrument
panel replaced and upgraded with VHX analog and digital gauges. A
vintage style cushion grip steering wheel is mounted on a tilt
column. It also has a Bluetooth stereo with speakers molded into
the kick panels and 6x9s in back. Upgraded wiring with a modern
fuse panel was installed. Between the buckets is a nice center
console with an armrest, cup holder and there's a floor mounted
shifter on the floor.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood is a very stout 350 putting out
an estimated 375+ horsepower. It's equipped with ProMax aluminum
heads, an EnduraShine intake and a dual-feed Holley carburetor. A
great looking set of cast aluminum valve covers dresses it up,
while headers, an aluminum water pump, Tuff Stuff alternator and
neatly organized plug wires round out the performance package. It
also features power steering, power brakes and air conditioning. An
aluminum radiator with dual electric fans keeps it running cool.
The engine bay is painted body color red, and everything looks tidy
and fresh.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted in
the same beautiful, glossy red as the body, and a new weatherstrip
seals the compartment. Inside, everything has been neatly finished
with fitted carpeting, including the floor and side panels. A large
amplifier is neatly mounted in the trunk and powers a pair of 6x9
speakers.
UNDERSIDE: The underside is pretty impressive too! The car was
taken apart with the body off the front subframe and all the
components removed for restoration. The floors are rock solid and
protected in a durable, color matched red chip guard finish. The
front subframe and components were stripped and painted, while the
steering and suspension were completely rebuilt with lowering
springs and fresh shocks. Subframe connectors tie the front and
rear together to reduce body twist and improve handling, and the
rear suspension was rebuilt as well. It has a great sounding dual
exhaust system. The brake system was gone through with disc brakes
up front, drums in back and replaced lines. The fuel system was
replaced, including the tank. Looking up at the motor, it's clean
and the starter looks fresh. An upgraded 700R4 overdrive automatic
has a custom vented pan for additional cooling, and the driveshaft
leads back to a 10-bolt rear end with cruising gears.
