This is a real-deal 1966 Nova SS (118 VIN) that was highly customized in 2014 to become a one-of-a-kind machine in every way. The body is laser straight all the way around, the door handles were shaved including a ‘popper’ door opener w/ a hidden switch, a cowl-induction hood was installed, and custom headlights & LED taillights were added as well. She was then lathered in beautiful Jet Black paint (w/ metallic specks of Radiant Red Pearl), over Viper Red two-tone. Over 200 hours were spent on the preparation & application of the paint work. All of the chrome was freshly re-plated, and all new stainless-steel trim was used, which is in beautiful condition throughout. This Nova SS has an amazing stance and rides on 17” chrome-plated Ridler wheels (17” x 8” in back & 17” x 7” up front), wrapped w/ Hercules Raptis high-performance tires (245/45/ZR17 in the rear & 215/45/ZR17 up front). You can walk around this car a hundred times and it looks awesome from every angle. The undercarriage is clean & tidy featuring Bilstein shock absorbers, Caltrac springs & traction bars, torsion bars, sway bar, new stainless steel gas tank, and a polished differential cover.
Open the driver’s door and you will find a gorgeous two-tone red & black custom vinyl bucket-seat interior, featuring matching two-tone door panels, matching two-tone kick panels, matching dash & headliner, custom fabricated full-length center console w/ (2) cup holders, black dash face w/ full set of Auto Meter ‘Sport Comp’ gauges, aluminum tilt-steering column, custom half-wrap steering wheel, billet door handles & window cranks, billet pedals, interior LED lighting, Vintage air conditioning w/ heat & defroster, JVC AM/FM sound system w/ CD player & speakers mounted in kick panels, (2) sets of GM style seat belts, and beautiful red carpeting throughout. The interior is not only beautiful, but it is very comfortable and fully functional in every way. The trunk is completely finished in matching two-tone red & black vinyl w/ ‘66 NOVA SS’ embroidered in the red vinyl, and matching red carpeting throughout. The battery & battery cut-off switch is located behind the upholstered panel in back.
Now, let’s get to the heart of this beast, shall we?
Pop-open the hood and you will find a 383ci stroker motor w/ polished Bow-Tie valve covers, and covered in chrome & polished aluminum components throughout. Engine features include: high-performance cam, Edelbrock polished aluminum high-performance intake manifold, Holley 750cfm #080508S carburetor, chrome triangular air cleaner assembly, ceramic coated headers, chrome belt pulleys, chrome water pump, chrome power steering pump, chrome electric fuel pump, chrome hoses, chrome AC compressor, chrome alternator, chrome brake reservoir, chrome brake booster, polished aluminum heavy-duty radiator, chrome radiator over-flow reservoir, braided steel lines, chrome shock towers, billet hood hinges, and on and on! It is truly a stunning looking engine that produces approximately 450hp. The motor is linked to a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission, which feeds power to the GM 8.2” 10-bolt Posi rear end w/ 3.08 gears. She fires up instantly w/ a flick of the wrist settling into a nice smooth idle, and she runs, drives & performs beautifully. Stopping power comes from the power front disc brakes (drums in the rear), and she also sounds absolutely amazing due to the custom 3” dual exhaust system w/ chrome tips. This Nova SS is a blast to drive and anywhere you decide to go there will be folks gathered around snapping photos on their smartphones.
