1983 Right hand drive Mini Cooper HLE. Identification: chassis sequencing belongs directly to the Leyland Mini 1275E - the square-nosed Clubman body style, only produced by this plant for a few yrs. This Mini HLE represents the final phase of local Leyland South Africa production before the Blackheath plant closed its doors in1983. These are extremely rare with low production runs during that time.

Runs and drives well. Not perfect, but a blast to drive.
"HLE" (High Economy Luxury Equipment): This indicated the upper-tier trim specification. It included improved interior trim w/wood dash, a full three-dial dashboard pod with opening rear side windows. The luxury editions are highly sought after.
