LaFontaine Classic Cars is proud to present this beautifully
executed 1955 Ford F-1 Pickup, built with a clear purpose: take a
bone-stock 1955 pickup and transform it into a safe, comfortable,
and reliable truck that could be driven and enjoyed every day.
The build began in 2020 with a rock solid 1955 Ford pickup that had
been previously restored to original specifications in the mid
2000s. This was a great candidate to start with as it already had
restored paint, trim, and glass. The process began by removing the
body from the frame, and then modifying the chassis to take the
modern suspension, braking, and drivetrain components. The chassis
was then sent off to be media blasted and coated in preparation for
final assembly which was completed in 2022. Since completion, the
truck has traveled just 2,300 miles!
Under the hood is a 5.0L V8 paired with an overdrive automatic
transmission, providing modern performance and highway-friendly
cruising. The engine is kept cool with a high volume water pump and
an Aluminium Radiator with an Electric fan. The chassis was
upgraded with Independent Front Suspension which features tubular
upper control arms, new bushing, ball joints, shocks, coil springs,
rack-and-pinion power steering, and out back we now have a Ford 8.8
rear end with a 4-link suspension and QA1 adjustable Coilovers. Now
equipped with four-wheel power disc brakes. The fuel tank was
relocated beneath the bed floor, creating more room in the cabin
while also improving the overall usability of the truck.
Inside, the original-style character has been complemented with
modern comforts, including Vintage Air conditioning, a RetroSound
radio, new gauges, all new wiring, and fresh upholstery.

This 1955 Ford F-1 successfully combines the unmistakable styling
of a classic Ford pickup with the performance, braking, steering,
cooling, and comfort expected from a modern driver. Built to be
more than a showpiece, this truck was intended to be driven,
enjoyed, and used.
Included with the truck are the Restoration Receipts, Clean MI
Title, and a dust cover.
