Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG C63 AMG Sedan, 2012. Two owners, 15,253
km.
"Es gibt keinen Ersatz fr Hubraum." Ferry Porsche once said it
about displacement, but nobody took that line quite as literally as
the madmen at AMG in Affalterbach. In an era when the rest of the
world had started fiddling with turbos, downsizing and eco
stickers, AMG casually crammed a hand-built 6.3-litre naturally
aspirated V8 under the bonnet of an otherwise perfectly respectable
business saloon. The M156. Six-point-two litres in reality, but 6.3
on the boot lid, as a tribute to the legendary 300 SEL 6.3 from the
sixties. Marketing and nostalgia in one fell swoop, and not a soul
complained.
I've always had a soft spot for cars that pretend to be something
they're not. For the average German, the C-Class was the
entry-level model, the sensible buy, the car of the accountant with
a mortgage and two kids. And then AMG takes that well-behaved
chassis, drops in a block that belongs in an SL 63, and turns the
whole thing into a wolf in a slightly-too-tight tailored suit. 457
hp. Rear-wheel drive. No turbo to soften the blow, no electronics
to blunt the feel. Just eight cylinders that make a noise on every
stab of the throttle like someone whipping an orchestra of angry
basses into a frenzy. BWWWROOOAAARR, and then that trademark AMG
crackle as you lift off.
The story continues on our website, where the full file is kept as
well. 107 photographs including the underside. The service history,
scanned in full. The Carfax report. Paint thickness measured panel
by panel. A timeline from 25 October 2012 to today, with every
owner and the mileage year by year in a single graph.
Every car here follows the same route: first pre-market, then the
showroom, and finally the live auction on our own site. What
changes is the way you buy, not the location - once a car has
arrived, it stays with us in Katwijk. This one is in the showroom
and you are welcome to come and see it, no appointment needed. You
buy it here at a fixed price: no bidding, no waiting. Our showroom
in Katwijk, 30 km from Amsterdam Schiphol, is open Mon-Fri 9-18 and
Sat 10-17. Call ahead and it will be standing ready, with someone
free for you.
Within the EU no customs duty arises on this purchase. Registration
tax and registration costs in your own country are not included. We
supply the export documents and assist with the registration. The
price shown is the full price for collection in Katwijk. We arrange
insured door-to-door transport worldwide, cost quoted per
destination beforehand.
