This exceptional 1985 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z has just 4,390 original miles and is an outstanding example of a low-mile, factory-original third-generation Camaro. Finished in highly desirable Bright Blue Metallic with Gray Custom Cloth interior, this IROC-Z is loaded with documentation, factory options and original equipment.

In 2024, this Camaro was invited to the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN) where it received the coveted Concours Gold certificate with an incredible 997 out of 1,000 points. It was also displayed at the MCACN Malaise Era Invitational. The original judging sheets and certificates are included.

Introduced for 1985, the Camaro IROC-Z was named after the International Race of Champions and offered as a performance package on the Z28. It featured upgraded suspension, lowered ride height, specially valved Delco-Bilstein shocks, larger sway bars, the “Wonder Bar” steering/frame brace, unique IROC-Z graphics and available Tuned Port Injection (TPI). The IROC-Z also received unique 16x8 five-spoke aluminum wheels and 245/50/VR16 performance tires.

Power comes from the factory-original 5.0-liter 305ci LB9 V8 with Tuned Port Injection, rated at 215 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent through a 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission and G80 limited-slip differential.

The original factory invoice documents this Camaro as a Z28 Sport Coupe equipped with 30L Bright Blue Metallic paint, 82C Gray Custom Cloth interior and B4Z IROC-Z Performance Package. Other options include removable T-top roof panels, air conditioning, power windows and locks, six-way power seat, cruise control, power hatch release, rear defogger, sport mirrors, overhead console, cargo cover, power disc brakes, TPI V8, automatic overdrive and Delco AM/FM cassette stereo with graphic equalizer.

The Camaro was invoiced April 24, 1985 and shipped to Lamar Ferrell Chevrolet in Decatur, Georgia. It was sold new to Cheryl Pitman of Lithonia, Georgia on May 5, 1985 for $17,350 plus fees.

The ownership history is exceptionally well documented. The original owner retained the car nearly 23 years, selling it in 2008 with approximately 1,650 miles. The second owner kept it until 2018 with 2,300 miles, followed by a third owner who sold it in 2020 with 3,687 miles. The fourth owner carefully preserved it for more than six years before selling it to MS CLASSIC CARS in August 2026 with 4,360 miles.

The exterior retains its factory-original sheet metal and paint in Bright Blue Metallic. The paint was inspected with an electronic paint meter and professionally detailed by MS CLASSIC CARS. Factory features include IROC-Z graphics, T-tops, front spoiler, rocker panels, hood louvers, fog lights, rear spoiler, rear window wiper and quad halogen headlights. Original IROC-Z alloy wheels are fitted with 245/50 BFGoodrich G-Force Sport tires with 2017 date codes.

The factory-original Gray Custom Cloth interior remains in excellent condition with air conditioning, cruise control, power windows and locks, overhead console, Delco AM/FM cassette stereo, graphic equalizer, tachometer and auxiliary gauges. The original T-top carrying case remains in the rear cargo area.

The engine compartment retains the factory-original LB9 5.0L TPI V8, original stickers, assembly markings and factory paint. The firewall, inner fenders and radiator support retain their original finishes. The A/C was converted to R134a refrigerant in 2017 and recently serviced.

The undercarriage retains original stickers, assembly markings, primer and factory overspray. Power steering, power brakes and suspension are all in excellent working order. The Camaro runs and drives excellent, with the engine performing strongly and the automatic transmission shifting smoothly.

With only 4,390 original miles, factory-original presentation, extensive documentation and a 997/1000 MCACN Concours Gold award, this 1985 Camaro IROC-Z is a remarkable collector car and an important example of the third-generation F-body, 1980s muscle cars and Chevrolet performance history.
