This 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser GT Convertible Dream Cruiser Series 4 is a limited-production version of Chrysler's retro-styled convertible, combining exclusive colors and trim with the performance of the GT's turbocharged drivetrain. Finished in the Series 4-exclusive Deep Lava Red with a coordinating maroon cloth convertible top, this example currently shows just 43,734 miles. The special edition was introduced in conjunction with Detroit's famous Woodward Dream Cruise and represented the first convertible in Chrysler's Dream Cruiser series.

Under the hood is Chrysler's 2.4L High Output turbocharged DOHC four-cylinder, factory rated at 220 horsepower and 245 lb-ft of torque. Dream Cruiser Series 4 models were available with either a five-speed Getrag manual or four-speed automatic with AutoStick. The package was based on the range-topping PT Cruiser Convertible GT and also included a sport-tuned suspension, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, traction control, and 17-inch Satin Silver-finished wheels.

The Series 4 received considerably more than a unique paint color. Exterior details include chrome grille accents, special Dream Cruiser Series 4 badging, and color-coordinated trim. Inside, the special-edition treatment continues with Light Pearl Beige leather performance seats featuring perforated inserts and maroon accents, embossed Chrysler wing logos on the front headrests, Dream Cruiser embroidered floor mats, and Deep Lava Red dashboard accents. A Light Pearl Beige convertible-top boot was also designed to coordinate with the interior.

Equipment was generous for the period, including heated front seats, air conditioning, power windows, locks and mirrors, remote keyless entry, fog lamps, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, HomeLink, and a compass/temperature rearview mirror. One particularly interesting Series 4 feature is its premium 368-watt Infinity audio system, an eight-channel digitally amplified setup specifically tuned for the PT Cruiser interior and paired with an in-dash six-disc CD changer.

This example also benefits from an extensive documented history. CARFAX reports four previous owners, 32 service-history records, no accidents or damage reported, no indication of an odometer rollback, and no title-brand problems. The car spent much of its earlier life in California before moving to Indiana in 2021.
Recent documented maintenance includes a battery replacement in March 2025, followed by A/C service, an oil and filter change, and replacement of the thermostat and thermostat housing/gasket in July 2025. A coolant flush and maintenance inspection followed in September 2025.

With only 43,734 miles, its 220-horsepower High Output turbo engine, exclusive Deep Lava Red finish, maroon convertible top, special leather interior, and Dream Cruiser-specific equipment, this is considerably more than an ordinary PT Cruiser. The Series 4 represents one of the most distinctive factory versions of the PT Cruiser and combines genuine limited-edition character with top-down driving and surprisingly strong turbocharged performance.
